Films that make you cry
Jump to: Newest in thread
I watched the film the notebook this morning and it had me sobbing.
What films have made you cry?
Have you never been touched or cried at a film?
It completely took me by surprise. I have to admit the sobbing felt good...it felt good to let it out!

The boy in the striped pyjamas and Schindler’s List, I don’t like seeing kids in peril. Even the beginning of ‘IT’ had me upset.
Cinema Paradiso and To Kill a Mockingbird (the book’s final chapter gets to me everytime) |

A few have had me crying over the years, normally try stories. The most recent one was Just Mercy - the true story of Walter McMillian, who with the help of young defense attorney Bryan Stevenson, appeals his murder conviction |

"Oh there's loads but the main ones are
My girl
Green mile
Bambie
The fault in our stars
My sister's keeper
I haven't seen a couple of these. My sisters keeper, Id like to see that."
The book is better than the film. I'd recommend reading the book first, if you haven't already. |

Superman III.
It's not a great film, but there's a scene where Supes goes bananas, and he's in a bar, looking evil, and drinking, and all stubbly. And a kid from earlier sees him and shouts "Superman!" but his mother drags him away saying "Ricky he's changed."
Then the kid shouts...
"No, maybe, maybe he's just sick. Superman please get better. Superman you're just in a slump, you'll be great again. You can do it!!!!"
Ball my eyes out every time. |

50 Shades Of Grey
Leon"
I forgot about Leon. F&F 7 makes me cry too |

"Never cried because of a film.
I was really touched. A story of love and pain it was beautiful.
"
I get touched by some films. Sometimes get goosebumps - last time that happened was in the final scene of 'Judy' when the audience start singing. |

Oh god loads, I’m such a softy. But My Girl still makes me sob as much as it did when I went to see it in the cinema when I was young. Another one is Still Alice, very close to home and I was physically drained after watching it because I cried so much |

"A TV Film called 'Lost for Words' with Pete Postlethwaite & Thora Hird
It devastated me then and it still does now
That is worth checking out, they are both great actors "
Prepare to have your heartstrings twanged
It's about a family coping with his Mums dementia
Some funny scenes, but it had me in bits |

I am sadly becoming familiar with dementia. I'll definitely take a look. |

A Monster Calls.
Blubbered my way through this entire film...in the cinema!
The usual ones get me too like Marley and Me, My Girl, Titanic, and pretty much any Disney /Pixar film. Clearly I'm a sap. |

Yeah, there's been a lot of "he fights a version of himself" recently, but I don't think anything means as much as that scene, it makes the whole film worthwhile.
Superman IV is batshit! it's still fun though.

I’m ashamed of how soppy I get when watching some movies, I’ll definitely call myself a sensitive one.
A recent one I watched which got me all emotional was “ my sisters keeper”
So beautiful...so touching and I had a lump in my throat throughout |

Green mile always gets me.
But last night I watched hacksaw ridge again and that set me off.
Its those moments in films where someone has been constantly beaten down because they are different and they prove everyone wrong. Or when a human being above and be on what anyone would ever expect of another person. Typically all the war films based on true events and at the end they interview the real people. I've got such respect for that generation and what they went through. |

"The first five minutes of Up!
I've got to take a look at this film
Get tissues ready of you do, the first 5 minutes, as previously mentioned, are rather sad "
it was amazing what they did, watched their new one 'onward' and it did absolutely nothing..nothing. |

Lion.
Actually sobbed so much that led into ugly crying at the end.
Ghost makes me cry, used to love it but ant watch it after losing my husband.
Also sounds cheesy but titanic, at the end where he’s still alive in her dreams. That’s me wishing my husband were still here x |

Pretty much anything that has anything sad, or touching.
I'd like to think it's because I'm a new man,but more likely because of my personality disorder lol

Not a film, but I recently watched the Handmaid's Tale. It absolutely destroyed me! I was in bit's. I held it in until it dawned on me I was watching it on my bill so let it go. I was an emotional wreck by the end of season 3! Ha. Good though. |

Im an emotional wreck. Many movies made me cry. But I think what stuck for a while was an episode from Inside No.9. it was called "12 days of Christine". I never cried so hard bc if a movie/series...I think I was slightly traumatised |

I blub at everything..
Becky not so much..
What gets me going most though is those ‘pride’ moments, where someone sacrifices themselves for a rescue.
That & anything with dogs.. there are certain films I can’t watch, ever. |

i think I've bubbled at 'underdog' sports films like the mighty ducks and a few more,
I bubble a lot(or sob) at many family themes esp brothers/sisters(after losing mine).I will reiterate that I find the new pixar 'onward' as trash despite its intent at heart sobbing me. |

C has been known to get weepy occasionally - real tear jerkers like Shrek and stuff - you know, those kind of emotional films.
Ffs don't mention Bing Bong from inside out - that one took months to get over
