Different time..Virtually different game. I know who I'd rather watch tho.the 1970 Brazil team.
The media are calling spain the best team ever. I watched all their games in the euros and,ok,i know its supposed to be the beautiful game and i know if you have the ball the other team can't score and yes i know "what do you know you're a chelsea supporter, look how they won the CL"
but apart from the odd flash of brilliance I find watching them incredibly dull...

Pele, Rivalino, Jairzinho, Gerson and co, are in my eyes the best team ever.
I'm lucky enough to have seen both teams, on tv I know, but none the less, I've seen enough to say Pele and his boys would spank the Spaniards |

"spain would win this game,at a canter.
most of the brazil team, will be in their 60s by now. "
Sócrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira died in December 2011, so they'll need at least one sub - they could have one of ours as some people are keen to give them away. |

Stop Spain playing their ticky-tacky football and they don't have a plan B. The Brazil team of 1958-70 didn't need a plan B they were that good.
Spain can't be considered the greatest team until they've emulated what Brazil did in their golden era and win back to back World Cups (Brazil did it in 58 & 62), but Spain have emulated one thing Brazil did and that was to win the World Cup outside of their own continent (Brazil did it in Japan in 2002 and Spain did it in South Africa in 2010).
Now here's the real rub - the next World Cup is in Brazil in 2014 so let's see if this great Spanish team (no piss take there, they are a great team) can go and do it in Brazil's back yard. |

i think the present day spanish team, will feel it's a huge compliment, even being compared with the brazil team of that era, they were truly magnificent.
it also shows how far the spanish have come,in a short space of time.
they always had potential, they've now married that with a great attitude.
other countries could learn from their example. |

On topic, the Brazilians of 1970 were far better and talented. Having said that, the BBC's South American football expert reckons that the 1958 Brazilians were better still.
The Dutch of mid seventies were far more entertaining than the current Spanish.
ps can't beat a good brazilian. |

Socrates wasn't in the 1970 team. He came along in the next batch along with Zico and co |
