Not one to follow, pop idol thingies. But the lyrics in this song (https://youtu.be/Y8R-zl7SDUU) are quite on point right now, with what is happening in the world.

"

We don't talk enough

We should open up

Before it's all too much"

That song makes me cry but yes we should all be talking more although it's not always that simple for some. Talking hurts.

100%, I feel if the person you are talking to is invested then they can add to the issue. They want to protect but actually project. I hope all is good. I just believe right now people need someone to turn to. Not me as I am an empath and it tires my out, but yes people should talk

Talking is not for everyone

I'm sick of talking about my mental health. It bores me now

Sometimes it’s about distraction form all those thoughts that eat away at you. Talking about other things, or doing something different.

Talking about the issue concern problem doesn’t always serve well.

Just be there

The two already linked are great.

This is the one that speaks to me when I'm having a bad mental health day. Josh Groban - The River

"Some days I can't say why I'm feeling lonely

Some days I am too proud to ask for help

And I stumble through the noise

Trying to find some peace

A stranger in the crowd, I lose myself

So, I walk down to the river

Where the troubles, they can't find me

Let the waters there remind me

The sun will be there when we wake"

Distractions can only go so far until youre back facing the same problems.

Everyone deals differently with mental health. The important thing to remember is that if you want to talk to someone or you need help then there is so many resources. You don't have to do it alone

I can now recognise when the black clouds are starting to gather. Depending on how far they are along distraction techniques work for me, putting those feelings down on paper work for me as does picking up the phone and chatting with friends.

Music that lifs me includes the likes of Gerge Harrison penned beatles songs "While my guitar gently weeps" and "here comes the son" while a particular favourite that captures me is "Deliver Me" from The Beloved.

I get stress related psoriasis, so even though it is all fine in my head, when I start to flare I know that I need to plan in some down time to recuperate my mental health

I’ve only JUST realised how much I wasn’t talking, how much I was carrying and how much I bottled up for the “sake of others” who didn’t deserve that protection.

Talking is important, and opening up to the hard self-analysis is important. It’s what we need to do to heal.

Love these words:

"

I never saved you,

I was just there!

That's all I ever needed:

Just someone to listen and be there."

We've got fairly decent mental health support in my line of work. While I'm on a current different workstream, I have coaching support and access to psychologists as they recognise burnout. Doesn't matter who it is, but it's sometimes good to just talk things out and identify what's good and what's not healthy for you.

I've had a fairly difficult time, but my close friends have been supportive in letting me talk it out

This absolutely

You have to talk it out, feel that pain, pick it apart and scrutinise and analyse then move forward. And keep moving forward because it is all we can do

Exactly. The trick is not to dwell, but to unpack the boxes of things that have happened in life then move on with the lessons learned. X

I don't talk about things anymore and I feel much better for it.

Hope people don't lay their problems on you.
