I'd say french toast has more in common with fried bread.

Traditionally its stale bread fried in egg with cinnamon, cream, hearbs and spices... A poor mans bread in france.
bread past its sell by. Its actually roman bread it was just the french travellers introduced it to the americans many moons ago.. thats where it got its name.  |
