I (Luke) don't do a lot of fiction but I'm reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad at the moment.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to Martin Gilbert's History of the 20th Century.

A New History of Jazz by Alyn Shipton has been calling me too.

Having just finished reading a book, this is a question I need an answer to. There are just so many to choose from. It might be time for A Materialist Theory of the Mind.

On a mooch

Next up for me is The Search Party by Simon Lelic.

I’ve been saving it for this month - a 16 year old goes missing in the woods, 5 friends set out to find her. They aren’t just friends, they are suspects and not everyone will make it home alive... a perfect Halloween thriller full of twists

The World's Wife by Carol Ann Duffy. It passed me by 20 years ago so I'm catching up!

I've only read one of his: The Child Who. I didnt really get on with his writing style but the story was a really fascinating one.

Hope you enjoy it!

He’s a new author for me, so I’ll have to see, if the write up / reviews are to go by and it grips me from the start all should be good

I've got about 60 books altogether in small 'to read' piles dotted about the house.

"My reading list is a mile long"

I measure mine in years. Pre-covid, I'd get through about a shelf a year, and there are about six unread shelves. This is what happens over time when you buy books at a slightly higher rate than you read them.

That's not counting the maths books. They take far longer to read, and I know I'll never get through all of them. The shelves above my computer are a daily reminder of mortality.

I was pondering this myself. I love a trip to waterstones have a tea and flick through afew See what grabs me within the first few pages.

I received 'diary of a young girl' anne frank, i just cant read it. I love non fiction history as a exploration in person but not in a book
