If you could pick any player from the past that used to play for your football club to slot into your team right now, who would it be?

It would be either Rio Ferdinand or Cristiano Ronaldo for me.

I remember the 2 or 3 years him and Van Nistelrooy were dualling it out for the golden boot.

Henry made the game look easy though

took no shit and made sure those playing with him were committed to the cause.

im not a utd fan but you can clearly see the type of player keane was makes it very hard of anyone to play against.

who i want... and who i would want to fill a need... are two different things.....

so as an arsenal fan.... who would i want that could fill a current need.... give me a Sol Campbell/Tony Adams...or a 22 yr old Cesc Fabregas (gods chess piece)

if any arsenal player was available.... give me Thierry.... (could you imagine henry playing from the left and aubamayang in the middle... 200 goals a season!!! lol)

i was at celtic park when he lobbed the rangers keeper.

to watch him on that pitch you could see how intelligent a player he was.

and when he chipped the keeper there was that moment of silence as the ball hit the net. then 60,000 went mental.

you could feel the stadium bouncing.

"Some people dream.......some people sign Gareth Bale "

Whilst I'm glad to see him back I'd take Hoddle in his prime over Bale any day

Or if we're talking players we're lacking a tough no nonsense player like Graham Roberts or Dave McKay in their respective hay days

I must say, although Spurs have had some great players in their time, when Bale left for Madrid he was only second to Ronaldo & Messi at the time. It would take a brave man to argue against taking back a prime Bale

I'm actually not a Southampton fan but there was a period where goal of the month every month and 5/7 goals out of 10 would be his.

Kept Southampton in Premier league almost single handed, the guy was a one man show.

As I said I'm glad to see Bale back but Glenn Hoddle in his prime for me was a better player, years ahead of other players of his time, could read a game like a book and the things he could do with a ball were unreal

The 1983 Aberdeen team. European cup winners cup champions. Beating and outplaying the the best club team ever in Real Madrid 2-1 in the final at the ullevi stadium in Gothenburg. Managed by none other than the great Sir Alex Ferguson. Amazing days and very fortunate to have Sir Alex as manager. Love him or loathe him what he want onto achieve at Man Utd was remarkable. You’ll catch the final on YouTube if u any of u guys fancy it.

Ps
