Yes it does, but it doesnt happen over night. For me, my son was no longer dependant on me and a couple of years later left home. So why life changed, i could do what i wanted when i wanted. I have (debatable) far more sense and hidnsight than i did when i was 20 and if all else fails they no longer think your made you become eccentric.
Hope you have a good birthday |

I would say that yes, life does begin at 40. No ties to the same degree, a bit more money in the pocket (hopefully) and you understand and like yourself that bit more. Very comfortable in my skin now. I'm realistic about who and what I am, and make no apologies for it, it's me |

life at any age has it's good points but with maturity comes the realisation that life is what you make it and the ability and confidence to go out and get what you want.
Personally I'm having a ball and I think I look better and certainly feel better than I did as a 25 or 30 year old, Mr N feels the same.
The kids are off hand, we have the house to ourselves some evenings, neither of us give a stuff what anyone else thinks....yea life begins at 40 lol. |

I agree that most people get more independence (from kids) and know what they want as they get older (at about 40).
I do find myself looking at younger people and wishing I'd known then what I know now. Imagine the fun you'd have |

Hopefully yes I intend to be really naughty when I turn 40 only 6 years to go. Great having kids when I am young because when my eldest will be 20 I will be 40 and I will still be young enough to do what the hell I like. |

Happy birthday for tomorrow. My 40's were a great liberating time. Children left home and I went travelling for a couple of years. Became much more confident with who who I am. Now nearly 56 and still having a great time. xx |
