They only opened the huge new one in York about a year ago and must have spent a fortune on it, gutted it's closing but then again the article I read suggested they're mothballing rather than closing and aiming to re-open next year. |

It's the smaller independent venues I feel more sorry for - whilst it's obviously sad that the large corporates are having to do this, particularly from the perspective of their employees - most of them will mothball and re-open when it's safe to do so.
I fear the smaller independent venues won't be able to do that - haven't heard anything about it but my local independent cinema is well run, charges half the price of Cineworld and always has the top films and I suspect may not survive. |
