I've never been married, but would it not make sense to marry someone that you were in love with and also your best friend?

We were friends before we got together, so I think we have both

Love is a lot of things, and I'm not convinced waiting for some movie-like "one" is healthy. If you like someone's company, enjoy fucking them etc then that's probably enough - don't settle, but don't hold out either. Over time, it becomes more about what you (and they) put in anyway (and, of course, dumb luck - some things just don't work out, even when all the people involved are awesome).

My wife is my best friend. I love her, and she loves me - but I value that friendship so much more.

Some people have marriage pacts with their best friends, both single when we are 50/60/70 let's get married agreement

I would never marry again but I married for love and friendship and now still have the wonderful friendship and love but not “in love”.

Neither! I can have ‘friends’ without having to marry and love is very fickle... it lasts as an as it lasts ...

It’s never been on my agenda. I have very few ‘in love’ friends, most of them stick together out of habit

Ah, okay. I wouldn't personally have an arrangement like that.

I am in love with someone and we share our lives yet he never wants to get married again.

That took me some time to accept but now I have come to terms with it and I just get on with enjoying our life together.

It would take someone that makes me feel an obscene amount of both of those things to get me to walk down that aisle

I was married to the love of my life and he died after battling and beating cancer. Chemo damaged his heart.

I’d love someone to share my life with again, however there is little hope of that so for now I’m having a hell of a lot of fun

I have married for love twice.

Was definitely second time lucky. Friendship is not a reason to marry.
