What's you favourite TV programme theme tune?
I'm currently binge watching CSI:NY so repeatedly hearing 'The Who - Baba O'Riley'. I also like the theme tunes to 'House.MD' & 'NCIS'.
Incidentally Fender Guitars shared a cool video of some top guitarists jamming to Game Of Thrones...

"The fanderson fan club have released remastered and in some cases stereo versions of theme music from many gerry Anderson series and my favourite has to be unquestionably UFO."
I've used a version of the UFO theme as my quiz night intro music for the last 15 years
Occasionally people old enough to remember the series aske what it is, as they know it but can't place it |

Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads is a great tune - I think it was the same musicians as played on The Mighty Quinn as they wanted the same sound - and with an upbeat sound but what a downbeat message
"Oh what happened to you, whatever happened to me? What became of the people, we used to be?
Tomorrow's almost over, the day went by so fast. Is the only thing to look forward to the past?" |

It was co-written by Mike Hugg, founding member of Manfred Mann. |

Anyone that goes to Goodison Park will have heard it - is still their pre-match intro music |

Grow, grow, the lightning tree
It's never too late for you and me
Grow, grow, the lightning tree
Never give in too easily
It's a fucking great song isn't it "

Whilst I’m no exponent of football, I think the z Cars them is the tune that Everton play at rhetoric ground on home games.
I love all of the ‘classics’ as others have alluded to, but add in there;
Upstairs Downstairs
The Persuaders
The Proectors (Avenues and Alleyways by Tony Christie)

As soon as streaming became available I used to play that tune really loud on the way to work if I needed to banish any blues! |

Jump in we'll take you for a spin
And show you round the Wheelie World.
Hop on, it's fun to come along and take a look at Wheelie
World.
You'll be surprised how good it feels
To zoom around all day and wheel so merrily with me,
You don't need a ticket, for we'll take you round for free
And if you see the witch Fenella don't be worried,
'Cos there's no cause for alarm (ha ha ha ha!)
'Cos we've got Chorlton who's the dragon who will keep you
free from harm (ho ho ho ho!)
It's fun at any time of year,
So put your wheels in second gear
Back to the top And hold tight
Alright?
We'll show you all the sights of Wheelie World!

Hard to say, but 'The Tripods' still has one of the best, as does 'Airwolf' and intro that was used in the UK for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Best out of all is for 'Terminator'. Listening to it later in life I realised that it was an electronic dirge for humanity. |

One of John Barry's best compositions..
The opening theme for -
The Persuaders, starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis.
Those first half a dozen notes were a superb start before the rest kicked in... |
