Ive always bought M&S boxerbriefs but now they have ceased to sell them. Any recommendations for smart comfortable but not expensive brands?

I don't wear then personally but I know a lot of guys that buy the brand's they like from TK Maxx as it's not so expensive. May be worth a look.

Cheap and comfy and tight fit id go sports direct Lonsdale. I use these for work and the Calvin's and boss for occasions

You wouldn't, would you. But they look great, nice material and great quality. Come in packs of 3 normally. Also at the sort of reasonable prices you expect. So I normally get a few packs because they're never in for long.

For work I wear Tesco use to be boxers but have converted to slips for more support on recomedation from urology due to a cysts.

Good price and wash well
