Do you think that with the onset of the pandemic and more people now working from home that companies will change their tact in the future and encourage more to work from home increasing their savings as they don't have to cover costs such as building hearing and lighting costs......

From my end , I feel some places want that control of being to see their employees in the flesh and being on top of them at all times.

In my opinion , if you set targets and people hit them , let them work in whichever way they deem the best for them.

Yes, some company's will. Not only will they save on the heating and lighting as you say, but huge buildings to be rented and local rates on those buildings.

The problem is, if they can get you to work remotely then what's stopping them getting someone the other side of the world working remotely to your job cheaper. It's a way off yet but this sudden change has brought this upon company's quicker than anticipated.

Sure its not going to suit every business and every company but you are really naive to think it will all go back to how it was previously.

Not only home working either but any industry that requires lots of staff will be looking at how to automate their business now, robots and computer are immune to covid restrictions last time I checked.

Its a bleak future for human workers in the Western world unfortunately.

I remember thinking it would be great to permanently work from home but it’s kind of a careful what you wish for situation. There easily could be someone across the world willing to do it for half like you said.

Employees should follow their hearts.
