Not at all...our world is soooo complex. Something I understand very well.

But to kill an innocent creature for no reason other than your own twisted enjoyment you need to be wired wrong.

Killing for fun is wrong but the habitat creation is worth the loss of one of two animals.

Totally ok with hunting if you eat what you kill.

In wild safari parks the money paid by a hunter pays the wages for the anti poachers team for a year, lose a old/excess bull to save the herd from being killed by poachers...

I was once told by a conservationist in Kenya that if elephant numbers weren't kept under control, many other species would become extinct, including giraffe as they eat the same stuff. An elephant eats about a quarter of a tonne of food per day. Game reserves have sprung up and fenced off their land with elephant herds within, but elephants are itinerant and wander all over in the search for food. They destroy both animal and human environments. Native people don't want to starve so the local authorities sell licences to hunt particular elephants to keep the herd numbers down. The licence fees pay for food, water etc for the natives and for the protection of other elephants and other species. The meat is eaten, the skins are used for leather, even the bones are used for minor construction products and other purposes. Ecology in Africa is a very fine balance.

Unfortunately this

The harsh facts of life are glossed over. Its definitely not my thing, but its rather hypocritical of people who stuff their faces with the meat of ananimal thats been kept in confined areas, fed up quickly then captive bolted in the head, then pop on face book to press share and like of an anti hunt post.

We live in a sheltered society and conveniently forget inconvenient truths.

I'm originally from the Eastern Cape in South Africa and people have to sometimes hunt the elephants there to cull them to ensure survival of them due to shortage of land for them. They use the opportunity to get pro hunters to do so and pay to do so and they use the money in turn for the reservation etc

A canned hunt goes something like this. But first let me state that our terminology might differ. Any way. For instance hunting buffalo or bison... Here in America is not common practice on federal land. Though they do have a lottery for a select group of people. The reason for that is to keep the herds from becoming too large and causing a problem for the rest of the animals in the ecosystem thay rely on the same food as the bison does. And since the numbers of apex predators are super low... Man has to step in to fill the void we created. But a canned hunt is were a person goes and pays for a hunt.. Its almost a guarantee that said person will harvest an animal. Almost like going to the market and being able to point out a cow and saying i want that one... Its cheating if you ask me. For instance there atw ranches or farms that specifically breed buffalo for hunting.. I love buffalo meat.. Its amazing. But for people hunting elephant or other such animals for sport... When that animal is harvested the meat is donated to the local population. The money is supposed to be used for anti poaching things and other positive things in that area. I absolutely cannot stand people that hunt for trophy. However that disdain is tempered just a little if the meat goes to those in need. I hunt for food.. And to enjoy the outdoors. Its a different connection to nature as opposed to taking a walk

And for people that seem to think domesticated farm animals are treated better... You're sorely mistaken

They carry out regular culls in some of the big game reserves as large herds of elephants decimate the vegiitation for other animals.

The hunts are governed by the sanctuary owners and the money paid by the hunters goes into the preservation of the reserve and protection of the animals.

I thought the bison was protected now after they were nearly wiped out in the 19th century from millions of animals to just small groups It seems the bison is doing well otherwise today which pleases me There is only one animal here that I don,t like and that is the brown rat and to a smaller degree the house mouse luckily they both have natural predators apart from man like owls and other birds of prey.. and I feel sorry for jumbo he has to pay the ultimate sacrifice to pay for man everytime.

Then if it's bona fide don't pose for pictures!!!

Large parts of the world are overpopulated by humans and destroy natural resources.

Shall we have bona fide culls for them?

Of course not it's inhuman.

Benefits of Hunting

Hunting has historically proven to be an integral part of wildlife population control, both by reducing numbers to meet population objectives as well as funding for conservation of wildlife and their habitats.

What they did was not population control, in ny eyes he is a cunt.
