their ex has a "ruin my fun" radar? Over the past 2 months or so I have pretty much had to cancel almost everymeet I have planned due to the ex at the last minute not having the kids when he is supposed to...starting to think that he has some sort of radar that goes off as soon as I start trying to plan something...Today I was planning my weekend, as I would as it is not a weekend that I am to have the kids and minutes after confirming a meet I get a text from him saying that he is most likely not going to be coming for the kids this weekend as the job he is on this week is going slow so will probably be working this weekend. |

it is not a question of relying on him...it is during time that is his court ordered time to have his children...and as for family mine are all in Canada so a bit of a hop for a night of babysitting lol |

We have had the same thing with a few meets last year but put it down to bad luck. We all have unexpected issues pop up its a matter of making the best of a situation. |

Tell him that altho you know he has to work, the children must come first and he cnt keep letting them down. If he took the time to go to court then he should honour the access set out,if he doesnt tell him your going back to court to have his access stopped. That way you can plan ahead for babysitters, but more importantly the children will have a routine |

"Be real - stuff happens and you need to be flexible, anyhow, I thought kids were a joy to have and be the light of any parents life???
Otherwise, don't make 'em - simples!"
When did I say I did not want my children? My kids come first, that is why I only play the weekends they go to their dad's...because when they are with me I am not thinking of getting a sitter to have more time away from them.yes, this time it was work but the other times it was him just deciding at last second he was not coming for them which is not fair to them...the whole point of my post was kind of laughing that it is only the weekends that I made plans he did not come for the kids....like he had a sixth sense that I was going to go out and enjoy myself. |

I had the same problem time and again.
I even tried reminding my ex of parental responsibility all to no avail. Learnt slowly that not all parents take seeing their children that seriously.
You could always play him at his own game, good luck |
