Did you know hangings were practiced in the morning, Early morning timings are the stress-free timings. Death pain gives immense agony and stress to any person. So, to keep the mental torture minimum, execution is done first thing in the morning.

There's an area of Shrewsbury called Ditherington that was so named because the dead bodies would be cut down from the gallows at the Prison and would be transported for durian through that part of the town while they were still "dithering" or twitching.
