Remeha boiler

Looking for some gas boiler advice please. I’m having a nightmare trying to find someone to service my Remeha Avanta Plus 39c boiler. I believe they are part of the Baxi group now.

Are they a difficult boiler to work on or something? I’m struggling to find anyone that is willing to service it/do any repairs on it.

It’s about 15yrs old now so would you suggest saving up money to replace it completely? If so, what are the brands and prices like for a new boiler so I have a rough idea of what to budget for.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Other half is heating engineer and always hear him talking about Remeha's as he specialises in repairing them. See if you can find a local boiler repair as difference is couple hundred in repaurs compared to couple thousand new boiler.

Thanks for the advice so far. Does anyone know if remeha’s are particularly difficult to work on/fix? Should they last longer than 15 years or is it something I really should be saving up for to replace? Thanks.

At 15 years old, I'd look to replace, but that depends how you are for cash

You can't get maintenance plans for many once they reach that age

I know that cos mine is nearly 14 years old and it went, twice, during lockdown

I am putting money aside to replace it in the next 12 months

My tip is try and get it up and running and then replace

If you wait for the death knoll, you could end up skint as well as cold and in need of a wash for a good couple of weeks

Brilliant boilers. I have a 25 year old remaha boiler. I had the full house renovated ground up last year but on advise of my best mate thats a plumber he said keep it, he fitted afew things to it to bring it upto spec like it now works via wifi. Parts are cheap and easy to replace.

I don't know much about gas boilers, but don't let anyone talk you into replacing it with an 'energy efficient' heat pump system. They sound very good when someone is trying to sell the product, but can be such a pain when they go wrong...
