Not if they're donated to charity shops, but sadly a lot seem to sit for decades in wardrobes |

They have to do it to keep making a profit, only gullible people fall for it and buy new clothes every season. If you buy classic, timeless clothes then there’s really no need to update them till they’re worn out. |

Yes, it does Tom if they're thrown in to landfill. If they're recycled, exchanged or passed to a charity shop they're not wasted.
I've had to stop wearing my crinoline, they keep getting shut in the doors of the bus  |

If they are thrown away then yes but fashion comes back around. Some things can be brought in to the next trend by altering slighty or just wearing a different way. Or we have the option of charity shops, passing to friend's, clothes swaps etc
I only throw things away if they've fallen apart. |

I love brands i generally only wear ralph lauren and Vivienne Westwood.
i have a clear out avery 6 months never sell them just gift them to a local charity shop.  |

Meh i was never really a "fashion" person. I still have a pair of TH jeans that i bought in 2008 (that i will fit back into) im trying to build a capsule wardrobe. Ive picked up fab bits in charity shops |

I buy a lot of my clothes from EBay. You can get some bargains. I tend to have a wardrobe sort and get rid of clothes on EBay or Charity shops before I buy anything as I have hoarding tendencies so have to be strict with myself. I tended to think “oh I’ll keep this for a special occasion” which never materialised.
I don’t follow trends though - I just wear what I like. |

Don't be sorry, I'm not lol. It's a minefield though, I know some people get very offended if someone is younger than them. I'm just glad to be alive whatever generation I am.
I agree it is generational. I put lipstick on straight after I clean my teeth and have done for years.  |

Yeah I understand people are very sensitive around age. I often find myself reassuring people that I'm happy for them to acknowledge that I'm older than them .
I wear 24 hour lipstick because I can't be bothered with touching up throughout the day so it doesn't transfer to masks.
I still can't do eyeliner flicks though |

The problem is that fashion dictates that a certain look, or length of hemline is currently correct, and doesn't take into account that the population is varied.
For example. Tight jeans look good on men with pipe cleaner legs, but Jeremy Clarkson gets mocked for wearing them.
But he isn't following fashion, he is choosing clothing he likes. |

I wear what I like, to the extent that I must be swayed by what's available (if I need a new X, the X will almost certainly be in the current fashion), and to the extent that I feel I can get away with it (because I do feel I'm judged by how much I keep up with appearances  ) |
