No OP, I’m a Glaswegian but have had many visits to NYC for business and pleasure over the years. Is it normal that when catching a cab at JFK into Midtown that the driver stops for gas somewhere off the 495? It’s happened twice to me and the second time he wanted the cab fare at the gas station before I got to Midtown so that he could buy the gas!?!

you catch a cab from JFK into Midtown... how rich are you!!!!

the best way of getting there for commoners is to catch the "airtrain" to Jamaica (LIRR) then catch a train from there into Penn station (midtown).... also probably quicker to be honest..
