I suppose it's just because they can. It doesn't actually matter what the profile states its whatever interests the person. I try to ignore the labels and just accept people.

Some women or couples don’t meet Bi guys, it’s that simple. So by labelling yourself bi, it means you’re limiting some potential meets.
Or in some cases as they see a feminine image in front of them, they also don’t see it as a bisexual act, as they’re not attracted to masculinity at all. So sleeping with a convincing Tgirl is just a woman with a little extra.

An insight into my Bi/Not Bi.
I have and will in the future play with men. I can't say I am Bi because I am only really attracted to a man on a rare occasion. Only a very few I find to my taste. I have very specific likes when it comes to men, and all have to be ticked!
I wouldn't say I am strictly Straight either but, i find the vast majority of women attractive in one way or another.
It's the need to label that causes the issue.
I find more Cute Ts's attractive than men. It may be the femininity, the breasts who knows. Its just what I like.
I will happily dance, kiss and fumble with anyone in a club, but i need to be drawn to you for anything else!
In my opinion I am somewhere between straight and Bi. I have put Bi in profiles before and have gotten grief for not engaging with men more.
I am happy with who I am and who/what I am attracted to. I do not need to conform to anyone else's idea or label.
Much the same as others have their ideas and ideals. The expectation of conformity to a strict set of "rules" rather than the questions asked, is what I find a frustration. Ask any Q you have but, don't push back if you don't agree. Just accept that there are a handful of labels for 7,000,000,000 people! Not everyone will fit!  |

There's a large concept within the bisexual community that recognises a person's ability to self identify, that recognises that 99%/1% attraction is still recognised as bi.
However there is also a huge stigma associated with male bisexuality, so for many they can't or won't recognise that part of themselves. They also assume that people (mainly women) won't meet them if they 'come out'.
It's a very complex and thorny issue. One that is an individual journey to be taken and can't be rushed.
As such the simple answer is; leave them to it, it has no bearing on your experience here whatsoever |

There is quite the argument over how an individual identifies vs biological identity. Whilst i have my own opinion on the subject I'll say it's a very emotive issue and also nuanced. |

Anyone and everyone can lay claim to being better than someone AND shitter than some with the use of perspective. I respect all views regardless of whether i agree with them and have some very disagreeable views on various subjects myself. I do think that biphobia or any other such view point is extremely out dated in an "enlightened" society but it still persists.
In fairness though my ill thought out remark could perhaps have been worded better. |

Well, quite. That's rather my point. Fab doesn't have the capacity to identify gender rather than sex, "TV/TS" seems to be the only option beyond binary gender identity. TV/TS doesn't necessarily mean a cis man cross-dressing for sexual kicks, and declaring that straight men meeting trans people are meeting men and therefore not straight ignores so much nuance that it's inherently absurd. |

I'm not arguing for a broader gender-identity list to choose from necessarily, although it's important to be inclusive, a small niche member-supported site can't reasonably be all things to all people. (Although dismissive jibes about "101 categories" aren't particularly helpful)
The solution, as I see it, is for people to stop acting like it's their business what consenting adults do with their own genitals. |

I am seeing some very reductive opinions.
I would like to think that they may be, perhaps views quickly written and that the meaning has been skewed a little in haste.
But arguing that the onus is on the individual to state what others think they should identify as. Rather than the argument, that the wider society should be more accepting of an individual for who and what they are.
The blanket view of they need to do this or that, is quite dismissive of an individuals right to be who AND what they want!
If you want to call yourself straight, Bi, Gay whatever. That is what you identify as. There is no further argument!
The idea that being attracted "exclusively" to a sex is a HUGE oversimplification. I would argue that anyone can be attracted to ANYONE.
I am attracted to whomever I find attractive! They just happen to be predominantly women.

Just because a man is straight, doesn't mean he isn't still straight if he's with a transgender woman. He doesn't have to say he's bi, because he may not be bi. He doesn't have to say he's gay, because he's not gay. A straight man can be with all the women or transgender women he wants, and still be straight. The operative word here is "women", it's not that complicated people.
Transgender "woman"
Transexual "woman"
Transvestite "woman"

women, and their still straight, and if you don't
like that their straight and attracted to
