Boyfriend / Girlfriend material

What would peoples requirements be for boyfriend or girlfriend material.

Yesterday I overheard a group of young lads debating how sexy a lady was, when one of them chirped in “she’s hot, but not girlfriend material”

Love to hear everyone’s thoughts about this. Are you relationship worthy to others? Do you care? Do you even want a relationship?

Boyfriend/girlfriend material to me would be just that, be my friend but that's it. Mention the word relationship and all you'll see is the dust as I run very fast in the other direction.

i’d say when you find someone attractive and wouldn’t mind fucking them but you don’t fancy waking up every morning to them.

Delightful Bliss

I love all of my relationships, the deeper personal connection and the ability to make love to a wonderful human being, without feeling pressure to conform to societies norms Is something I'm never letting go of again

You are very special and a rare find

For us it’s someone who you enjoy spending time with, can be yourself with, challenges you a little, but you don’t want to commit to going further / moving in etc ( not possible for us!) - it’s a friend, an adventure, will usually run it’s course but it could in theory be permanent. We both have one or two each !

I personally would take him saying that as to mean she either looks like a slut or looks like she’d be hard work.

Not my opinion, just what I’d imagine he meant!

If she can cook a good lasagne and asks me to make love to her often then its a good start.

Oh - and likes to wear blue underwear.

I refuse to answer this question so as not to incriminate myself.

I took it as a high maintenance type. Could be wrong

Realistically I’m not girlfriend material these days.

I have two young children, we live with my mum and that will be for the long term now.

I don’t particularly want a conventional “live in” relationship now anyway. I’d rather meet someone who was happy to live apart and we see each other as and when we can (at least a couple of times a week) and maybe holiday together etc.

So they’d have to be patient, laid back and extremely trust worthy and not at all needy.

You would want a boyfriend or girlfriend to be someone who you want to spend time with rather than just oggle!

Friendship first. A boyfriend/girlfriend has to pass the “friend” section before anything else.

I don't know what girlfriend material is but sadly I've come to the realisation I'm not seen as it.

I'm very much in the great fun to fuck but not to marry category.

Apparently none ofy friends can understand why I am single still. Perhaps some of my ex's could explain why

Seriously though I'd love to find someone to be with but I just never happens. I'm always someone's bit of fun.

I would take it as someone that’s good for a shag but you wouldn’t want to introduce to your family and friends

For me, not boyfriend material would be those muppets talking about that girl like that.

I hope she always has good hair days and clear skin and whatever relationship dynamic she wants, she finds.

Personally I'd find that quite insulting. Although I've seen similar thought processes on here often enough

She had her youth and good looks, dressed beautifully. She wouldn’t have trouble attracting male attention. I just didn’t quite get why she wouldn’t be worthy of a relationship.

Maybe the younger generation no longer want relationships.

There’s someone for everyone, or so they say.
