It's not a case of what foods, its simply eat less calories than you burn. A calorie deficit of 3500 a week results in 1lb weight loss per week

Healthy stuff. Cut out the crap, do not snack and drink water.

To lose weight you need to be in caloric deficit. My advice would be to measure everything you eat by myfitnesspal and concentrate on more proteins which help satiate the body and make you feel more full. Drink a lot of water for the same reason.

It really is that simple.

If you're going to lose weight you need a calorie deficit. There are small tweaks and and gains that some diets may (or may not) achieve based on certain types of calories/ times you eat etc but ultimately it comes down to taking in less calories than you burn. 500 kcal deficit a day equates to about 1lb a week lost. Given that the average man only needs 2000 - 2500 a day that's quite a chunk, especially when you consider that a pack of 2 shop bought sandwiches will be 400kcal+

What I have found is it is best to eat stuff that makes you feel full for longer with less calories. Two bits of toast with 2 poached eggs will fill me up for lots longer than 4 weatabix with milk and sugar but be 150 kcal less. Plus, get used to feeling hungry.

Oh, and count everything, don't dismiss drinks, the butter you put on your bread, salad cream sauce etc. You can easily add 2-500 kcal a day you don't think about (lots more of you ignore alcoholic drinks)

It is hard, really hard, to lose weight and it takes time. Your weight can fluctuate by several pounds or more (for me, if I have a few drinks I can add 5 -7 lb for a few days) so don't be disheartened if you're weight appears to bob up and down, keep a track of your lowest (or highest) weight during any calendar month and that is the easiest way of seeing if things are actual changes or just daily fluctuations.

Good luck.

It's easier to say what not to eat. Don't have sugary snacks or drinks, cut back on beer. Less bread, potatoes, rice etc more leafy greens and other vegetables. Replace dessert with Greek yogurt and fruit. You don't look like you need to lose weight to me anyway.

As said elsewhere on the thread, it is all about calorie deficit. Cut out the shite as an obvious starting point and then maybe looking at intermittent fasting to cut down further.

My Ice Castle! South Wales

I've started the Paul McKenna way of eating. It's not a Diet it's a way to stop us thinking we have to stop cleaning our plates and feeling guilty for leaving food. Eating slowly and enjoying the food and listening to your stomach. Having a drink when I feel hungry and only having something if I still feel.hungry after the drink.

In 2 weeks I've lost 6lb and enjoying food again without feeling guilty.
