Enthusiasm, as long as it comes with a willingness to take some direction. I don't want them bouncing around like a puppy who's just happy to be there ! |

Exactly this, enthusiasm is all well and good but so long as you both want each other then that will drive itself, skill is more about experience with that individual or the ability to read and adapt to what works for the person you are with. The 2 very much go hand in hand and think the either or argument is often linked to youth vs experience at least to some degree. If backed in to a corner to choose between those 2 then it would depend on the mood but more often than not experience wins over for me. |

There does not need to be a conflict between skill and enthusiasm. Think geek! In terms of kink I like to think I am skilfull and enthusiastic about being able to deliver and deliver safely. It is about constantly considering, practising and reflecting.
Similarly for vanilla activities skill and enthusiasm do not have to conflict.
These days expertise is not given any respect but you don't become an expert or skilfull in anything without passion and enthusiasm. So if I had to choose between skilfull and enthusiasm, I choose skilfull. |

If I couldnt have both and I had to choose I'd go with enthusiasm.
I've had experiences where someone relies too much on their "_kills" and it comes across as a bit formulaic...touch a, rub b , tickle c etc.
I'd rather have someone enthusiastic, much more fun
