I dont know the name of it but it starts.. "well this is a story all about how, my life got flipped turned upside down. I'd like to tell you a story so just sit right there, about a guy who became the prince of a town called Bell Air" |

You could ask this everyday and never get the same answer from me.
The only criticism is too many people don’t know enough of his songs, only the radio play list. Having said that, there are some clearly educated people on this thread and some very good choices.
There is a song or lyric that would come to mind for every occasion and the best/favourite would change every day too depending on mood.

Sometimes the snow falls in April - for more than just because it snowed in london on THAT day in April. We were in Florida when the news broke and ALL the roadside advertising screens were only showing a flat purple with his gold symbol ALL DAY out of respect.

Impossible to choose just one. I went to his concert at Wembley back in the 80's, the one and only concert I have ever been to. Pure genius and amazing talent. |

Purple Rain, Partyman, Trust, 1999, Alphabet Street, Kiss, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. Plus Nothing Compares To You write. For Sinead O'connor. The man was a musical genius and one of the greatest guitarists. |
