Cause they want to reply later.

Because they don't want people to see it's been read and then respond again asking why they haven't had a reply

I do this because I want to read the message now but will reply later.

Or because they are curious, but then decide not for me and don't want to be pestered with follow up mails... So many reasons!

"It happens to me a lot just wondering why?"

If a couple, might want to show their partner before replying

"How do you read and then unread a message ? "

Under the message you have 'Reply', under that you have 'Block', 'Save', 'Mark Unread'.

There and to the left a bit

"How do you read and then unread a message ? "

The OP means when a message is read it goes white in the senders sent box, then if the recipient marks it unread it goes back to yellow.

To the OP, I've found it easier to not worry about how others choose to use the site and not sweat the small stuff like this - watching sent messages to see if they're read won't change a thing, they'll either reply or they won't - and there could be any number of reasons that they do it too.

I know about the yellow box but never knew you could read it and turn it yellow again.

That increases my fab knowledge for the day

Because I don't want to talk to the person

So leave message unread & delete

I will often read then set to unread So I can consider my reply/check profile/reply when I have time too

Liverpool

I do this if I open the message to see it's obvious the sender hasn't bothered to read our profile, so I'll mark unread and delete.
