I have exactly the same problem. I find it totally ages me as well. Those women that wear glossy red kook stunning with it. I stick with pink or clear gloss now. You look pretty in yours regardless |

Red lip stick appreciation!!!
Like said above, your personal opinion isn't reflective of what others might think. I'm sure you'd look great!
Happy to give my unbiased opinion |

"I genuinely think there's a red for everyone. It's just knowing about your colouring and how to find it.
Pinks and purples are definitely my comfort zone."
Yes! I agree with you. I am positive there is a red for everyone but it's just finding the right one for you and that's not easy.
I'm quite pale and love Nars Cruella on myself I'm never confident enough to wear it out though |

i bought red shoes once, felt mega sexy "
Red underwear has that effect on me. I will try Debenhams tomorrow see if I can find one I like x |

It's not something with a lot of margin for error. I suit a few reds but also have had some horrendous fails |

I don't often wear any lipstick, but I find an orange-red suits me more than a blue-red.
I think Boots have some fancy gizmo that photographs your skin and tells you what tones to go for - worth a try OP, see what type of red they recommend. |

Red lipstick doesn’t usually suit me but the colour on my public pic was with me mixing two different shades of red and getting a colour shade that looks good.
I also lined the lips with a tad darker red. |

Boots No 7 do it with their range, yes. They'll tell you your foundation and what goes with it, including lipstick. |

I must admit I'm kind of a 'wear it because I like it' type and couldn't tell you if I suit it! Although I do know reds can be hard as some are orange toned, some blue, some pink. Its about finding which tone works with your skin tone |

I'm another who is yet to find a) a red lipstick that suits me and b) a decent match on a foundation (even with Boots' fancy gizmo it was a bit of a fail!). I think my skin tone is a bit meh and not that common.
That doesn't stop me occasionally buying one because I see it on a mixed race woman and think wow, how beautiful. With everything going on I don't think I'll be able to test out a decent shade any time soon sadly. |

If it makes you feel better, I wear red lipstick, have various shades of it that I love but I cannot pull off pale or nudes!
Would love to be able to wear a simple nude or pale lippy that doesn’t end up everywhere (or does as it’s me but isn’t as obvious!) |

Have you tried a foundation mixer? A few drops and You can darken/lighten foundation? Maybe a bronzey mixer? I get one from body shop but I am aware that we have different complexions
Also I sometimes put eyeshadow over my lipstick and under my gloss to get the colour right.
I’m too cheap to buy loads of products so I just mix up the ones I have |

"I love wearing red lipstick. I feel confident and sexy when wearing it and goes with my dark brunette hair extremely well.
Also love red clothing.
In fact I love the colour red."
I do like a woman in red heels |

Bright pillar box reds tend to draw the colour from your face, I’m assuming your still a light blonde here.
As suggested a burgundy or even bright pink will suit fair skinned and blonde better.
If your try a pearlescent over coat on a deep red, it will still give the red but the light will reflect off it.
Something that might work, go heavy round the eyes, go smokey eyes but go more burgundy / hint of purple then put your red on. The balance of the smokey eyes would be more than you would normally be comfortable with.
