Hmm the lastest official UK government stat from a 2018 publication said 7000 and something in a year. 3000 a day would be 1,056,000 a year which seems awfully high.
Absolutely everything can be 'bad' when abused and cause harm if people feel the need to harm themselves.

Life is a risk. Better to never go out and not eat or drink anything either. Then you can dehydrate, starve and go mad with isolation. Either way you end up dead in the end. |

Professor Nutt did a lot of research into this
You need clear definitions and state what you are measuring
For example the most dangerous drug if you was to use this term to the individual and dosing is Heroin. It is lethal with small incremental of the dose, it is cut with all sorts of nonsense and if the user does get it wrong one dose can kill him/her. The incidnce of this happening is high
See my example is quite specific
AT a cost level and societal level alcohol is deemed the most "Dangerous" or costly

I'd be inclined not to listen to the government's stats, as at 17 I was doing a litre of vodka a day and having massive help issues due to my intake, my doctors and my social worker referred me to achool services to which the reply was "due to a lack of funding we cant offer support to anyone under the age of 18 maybe child services could help in this case"
In other words the government dont want to admit it has a drink problem in it's under 18s which believe me it really does
But the biggest harm to me was never my own drinking, it was the hand that told me they loved me, then them hands destroyed me me mentally and physically when he had a drink,to the point I ended up trapped and drinking to numb my pain, till I escaped and got sober, but the damage he did will be with me forever were the damage my drinking did has mostly all gone as my body was young and able to repair parts of its self |

I’m still not convinced by the OPs numbers and his inability to cite any sources make me think they may be a bit skewed.
Yes, lots of people misuse and yes more can be done, however, I don’t see how it’s helpful to throw around quite extreme statistics without any source or evidence to back it up. |

Unless you backup the source of your research we have to assume it's from the Internet and not direct peer reviewed papers (although even some of them have been later proved unreliable). Anything on the Internet can rise to the top if enough people can be convinced it's true.

Professor Nutt did a lot of research into this
You need clear definitions and state what you are measuring
For example the most dangerous drug if you was to use this term to the individual and dosing is Heroin. It is lethal with small incremental of the dose, it is cut with all sorts of nonsense and if the user does get it wrong one dose can kill him/her. The incidnce of this happening is high
See my example is quite specific
AT a cost level and societal level alcohol is deemed the most "Dangerous" or costly
