No this isn't a Miami Vice fan club post.

I've been putting it off all day but I need to turn the sleeves up on my child's new blazer.

Urk!

Any hints or tips?

Using wonderweb...

Depends on the thickness and if it's lined if bondaweb will work

You can just stitch the turn ins where the seams are on each side, then iron the turn in flat and it should stay. Less sewing. Always turn them in rather than folding up the sleeve (I'm sure you know this )

Put a couple of stitches with invisible thread to keep them up. Along the seam so not too obvious. You'll be able to let it down then when they grow. Unlike bondaweb which is pretty permanent

I bring many years of experience with a small child, short with short arms. He's going to uni in a few weeks

Chams or Socials

My childminder used to do ours. I miss her so much!!

I always make them out item on inside out so they don’t undo my straight lines.

Use clear thread over wonderweb if you can & never iron the blazer. Good luck xx I was altering until gone 10pm on Wednesday as I kept putting off buying uniform

Awww good luck, it’s sweet you care, so many wouldn’t. Are they that long ? Is the kid stressing about it or just you ? They grow pretty fast....

My mother never bothered with mine.

It started off the term too long, then due to a growth spurt it was too short before half term.

Hang the child by their arms and place a couple of bags of sugar on each foot.

Repeat 3 times a day for 7 days.

You will then be arrested for child cruelty and won't need to worry about it.

Thanks all. Blazer sleeves sorted (with only minor swearing from me !).

They've stayed up for 24 hours so far, that's a win in my book

Good news! With Child B, I'm not going to need the turn ups, but to invent ways to add extra material on sleeves

Depends on how much you need. You can unpick the hem attached to the lining and add an extra bit of lining if that makes sense?
