the abyss

Just be careful as cases are starting to pop up in the more remote areas which means the locals are getting edgy about visitors. Even when they need the tourist trade. Its a difficult balance

I'm doing it next May. I posted in the Scotland forum and got loads of helpful advice.

Yeah I can understand that they will be getting edgey. I've heard some horror tales of how some peoe are treating the locals and the route itself.

Redditch

Not quite the whole thing I haven't, but I've done most of it twice. Anti clockwise both times, so next time I'll go the other way!

I would say that once you get right to the top, have an overnight stop either at Dunnet Bay campsite or a hotel in Thurso, because although it's 'only' 70 miles from Thurso to Ullapool it's a good day's drive up there. Some of it on single track roads with passing places

Enjoy your trip, as I'm sure you'll love it!

Thanks! Really looking forward to the break away from work more than anything. I'll take the advice on a Dunnet stop over.
