When do you think it's time just to grow grey gracefully?

I'm trying to hanging to my red hair, but within 2 to 3 weeks the Grey's back ,I really don't want to have to dye it every three weeks, but hate the thought of not being a redhead anymore

Any ladies got any advice please?

Silver grey is very trendy ..... why don’t you dye the whole lot silver and see if you like it? I’m blond but dye over pink/purple/silver and my hairdresser tells me I’m not grey yet! I plan to embrace the grey when it happens x

I decided to go lighter (blonde) , as it hides the silver highlights better than other hair colour.

I’m growing out mine (I used to have Henna) Have been for the past year or so now.

It’s taking bloody ages though as my hair grows so slowly.

I was surprised at how dark I still am. I have thick white streaks near my face though which look quite cool even if I do say so myself.

If your wanting to stay red but don't want to dye every few weeks then it is a quick, easy option. My friend uses it all the time and she loves it.. Like you she doesn't want to be dying every few weeks...Maybe worth a try...

On Holibobs

I use a coloured dry shampoo spray to touch up my temples, for some reason they are completely white

Full head I'm slowly going lighter until I hit light brown then I can just have it streaked, blonde hair makes me look ill as I'm too pale to carry it off

My hair is fading and I have pure white hair by my temples. I use a red colour conditioner it doesn't hide the white but makes the red a little bit brighter

I think its personal choice. Grey or white hair (like any colour) looks great if its in good condition and has a good cut.

For myself I get my roots done six weekly and will do until I either can't afford it (in which case I'll do it myself) or they're loading me in my coffin . I did on the advice of my hairdresser go gradually lighter in stages, starting dark brown and ending dark blonde.

I don't think that there us a time.

Many older ladies can no longer pull off dark colours but fairer hair can be incredibly flattering.

Equally many look great with grey hair.

My mum is in her 70s and was naturally dark brown. She is currently a light brown with highlights and it looks great.

I hope you’re all staying safe ladies.

If you need anything from the shops then dm me and I’ll pick you up anything.

Also, if you’re one of these old gals that insist on going yourself then at least let me help you cross the road or help you onto the bus

Oh thank you lovely can you bring me over a quarter of humbugs please? I'm only in West Wales so won't take a young strapping lad that long to walk over

I'm 60 this year and apart from a few grey stragglers, my hair is mostly brunette...drives me bonkers!

I can't wait to have a full head of grey dreads but they are already almost to my waist so I'll end up like my auntie Joan; a lovely shampoo and set on thin, white hair in my 80's because I had to cut them all out.

How you all have the patience to faff about with roots and such I'll never know.

My mum's 60 and she's mainly dyed her hair blonde for donkeys as it fades into the gray hairs better (sorry mother) but she's not unknown to dye her head all purple or pink, even if it's just a light pink.

I must be quite lucky as I dont have any grey yet.

Both my siblings were grey by my age.

I'm not sure what I'll do when it finally starts to go grey, if it ever does.

Not any practical help really but over the years I've noticed that a good cut will disguise any shortcomings with colour? A close friend of mine had her bobbed hair cut into a completely new style with some platinum blonde streaks put in her brunette hair and looks 15 years younger! I'm afraid I'm past any hope as not only have I gone unevenly grey it's now thin too! Consider yourselves lucky ladies you've got hair to worry about?

from Home Counties to Middle Earth

I'm a natural redhead and went white in top in my 30's.

I coloured it for a few years then decided to just let nature be.

For years I'd shock myself if I caught sight of myself in a shop window or something, as I still saw myself as a redhead - I would still buy clothes that suited my red hair.

I've since changed my wardrobe and fully embraced the fairness.

You've got a gorgeous skin tone - I think the natural you would suit the sassy you. Why don't you try lighter shades to begin with - get yourself weaned off the colour, if that's a step too far?
