I don’t know what counts as a date anymore

My hubby and I eat out because I’m too tired to cook, and I think the last time I went to the cinema was with a group of friends to see Infinity War...

yeah, what’s a date?

Same, even though I was worh someone 2 years we didn't actually do any dating. We went out for dinner once as a couple and once with his workmates. Now I understand the "don't put that on facefuck" comment when his workmate took a group photo.

When you get super excited and nervous to see someone and you get ready for like 3 hours and change your outfit 10 times and you spend ages trying to decide whether to hold their hand or kiss them and try your best to be all flirty and coy... Sigh... I miss that

No, as in, the experience...anyone can dress up and meet for drinks/dinner etc, but in the right circumstances I'd plan something different/unique; like a day trip away somewhere, or go to less well known places.....

Oh I see what you mean. Yeah the best date I've ever had was a second date where we went to a bird zoo which had a small petting zoo attached and we spent the afternoon cuddling baby goats. Then the evening was still young so we went to the arcade, played a game of bowling and then drinks. Felt like big kids but it was perfect

I don't mind going out for dinner, the way they treat the staff and the way they eat tells me an awful lot about them as a human.

I'll know then if I'm comfortable with them.

The fact this was followed by a third date where we went out to a fancy restaurant for dinner but ordered nothing but desserts makes me realise I probably need a babysitter rather than a boyfriend

Sounds like I am going to be treating myself to a lot of solo dates haha!

To be fair I prefer seeing blockbusters by myself. No one trying to talk to me through the exciting bits, I get to watch the credits for as long as I want and nobody to judge the size of my popcorn bucket

I love a good date and I don't mean I need to be wined and dined. So many people seem to avoid dating though. Seemingly through fear that it has to become more than they want it to be. A number of years ago I met a guy on Tinder who was going travelling around the world in three months time but we spent those three months going out for meals, going to a funfair, going to the cinema and fucking in his car down a country road . Was fun!

Think dating is over rated now, times have changed. To much expectation. New dating is doing something fun, adventurous or spontaneous like a couples massage to break the ice then wine and dine.

Then this way you get to know that person even more. Than just meeting to eat or watch a film.

In my experience even if you do find someone willing to go on a date it then turns out they have a very different idea of what "date" means

I'd rather do a dinner date, at least first. I'd be nervous anyway and would rather be sitting down somewhere comfortable with a drink and good food. And, hopefully, pleasant company.

I've been to see it and it's hard hard work to follow. The action scenes are good but not sure it would be a good choice for a first date movie. Mind I have friends who are a long term couple and their first film was The Hand That Rocks The Cradle so you never know

"What's a date? "

According to Merriam Webster a date either

1: the brown, oblong edible fruit of a palm (Phoenix dactylifera)

cookies with raisins and chopped dates

Or

2: the tall palm with pinnate leaves that yields the date
