Hi, was just sitting here thinking to myself, How dose one make new friends as an adult?
Thinking about myself in general, not big into sport, work in a very small office so little if no chance of building any thing there. School friends have moved away or lost contact.
How do you discover people for friendship (not fab fun) |

There’s a wonderful app that shows all the clubs and meet ups going on in your town. I ended up going to a MarvelGeek night in Birmingham and had so much fun  |

I've found it pretty hard, most friends I've made in the real world in recent years have been wrong for me and I've had to step away, they weren't the people I thought they were. Aside from best friends I've had all my life, the best friends have come from fab.
And they aren't just online friendships any more but started online. |

Meetup is a good website for finding groups into all sorts of stuff.
I find that the difficult part is making the transition to meeting outside that activity and talking at a deeper level ie from acquaintance to friend.

Hahaha! I tend to make and loose friends quite easily!
I will talk to anyone!
But most find me to abrasive due to being "Too Honest".
If you don't want my opinion, stop bloody asking! They get upset when I tell them when they are being utter T@@@S |

I go to a lot of Comic Cons and events as an art vendor outside of lockdown. You meet some amazing people that way, from loads of different walks of life.
Work is a good place to make friends too if you’re so inclined.
I’ve also met a few wonderful people on here who have enriched my life more than I thought would happen.
I must admit though I am very selective about who I get close to and who is just an acquaintance. The reason being I put my heart and soul into being a friend, and often end up looking after people to the detriment of myself, so I have to be careful who I let get close. |
