I get to listen to people, who have been lucky enough to drop £5k pp on a holiday more than once a year, moan like fuck about the fact that, when they woke in their 5 star tent in the middle of the Serengeti, they didn't have real Kelloggs Corn Flakes for brekkie.....
Oh that I should have such problems.....

A free car, free fuel, flexible (ish) working hours and the opportunity to make use of hotels booked for business trips for all kinds of debauchery!
And once a year I get a Xmas card from my boss's PA with a kiss on it - and she's quite fit!
Might ask her not to put it on the card this year! |

I once flew business class to USA on a business trip, and had been taken out to eat in some really nice restaurants while out and about in Europe.
Happy Days! |

33.45 hr week, but I work 45 + with TOIL which means on top of my six weeks holiday I get another six weeks off: 12 in total, not including 13 privilege days.
Flexible working hours, if I travel for business my time starts from I close my front door and ends when I open it again.
Free vend coffee, tea cappuccino, fruit juice and soup, in addition to free coffee shop quality expresso, cappuccino, tea from 8.30 - 3.30.
Free catered Christmas lunch and all the booze you can eat and party.
Department head takes us for Christmas lunch.
Used to have holiday playscheme £5 per child, which included all food and drink, travel, day trips out.
Can't complain about my lot really.

I'm lucky. I get to stay in lots of nice hotels all over the country for free, get to meet loads of really nice people, get free food when ever I get to a motorway service station plus vouchers to spend in the shop, free entry to places like Alton towers, theme parks, all sorts of visitor attractions that usually cost a fortune to get into and of I'm lucky lots of tips at the end of the day or week. Anybody wondering what I do my usernam says it all! |

I used to drive trucks on the Continent and in Summer it was always a perk to be parked on the French side of the Mt Blanc tunnel under the glacier taking a break, cup of tea in hand and looking out over the Chamonix valley. And I got paid!
Meeting so many different people in my job then and now is great and I see it as a perk.
Seems to me you don't need Jags, Business Air Fares and expenses to enjoy worthwhile 'perks'. They are all around you if you care to get your head out of the latest Expenses Claim Form ... |
