Just been watching Cobra Kai and got talking to a male family member who said he had never watched karate kid. My son laughed and said it was part of growing up for him.

My son was forced to watch all the classics growing up: karate kid, goonies, back to the future, big etc

What are your favourite retro films?

I was a big horror fan in the eighties (even though I had to wait for them to come on TV first) so some of mine would be

Evil Dead II

Poltergeist

Nightmare on Elm Street

Night of the Living Dead

Ghostbusters

Beverley Hills Cop

Come to think of it not sure if I've ever seen Karate Kid

Same here, so much so I've had the start watching the originals again. They played such a huge role with me growing up, loved all martial arts films back then, along with all van dame films too, they pushed me into it, along with pushy parents too.

I love the sound track to cobra and karate kid.

Cobra Kai made me rewatch the original Karate Kid trilogy.

Love 80’s films such as ET Monster Squad etc.

World was a simpler place.

I don't think growing up watching horrors affected me too much

I'd probably add the original Carrie to that list (scared the bejesus out of me when I first saw it).

The only one to really freak me out was Poltergeist - only coz my sister had a clown similar to the one in the film and she put it in my room. So I woke up in the early hours with a bloody clown staring at me from the bottom of my bed.

Might check out Karate Kid

Stand By Me has always been my favourite film. I love it and still cry when I watch it.

But Goonies, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, all the usual ones. But I was (and still am) a massive horror fan. So Amityville Horror, Pet Semetry, Poltergeist. Watched Christine the other day. Great movie, before films relied on jump scares.

The black and white films that were shown on the BBC on Sunday afternoons defined my love of cinema. All the Errol Flynn, Boggart, Cagney and Carey Grant. I hate to think theyve been consigned to the dustbin of history.
