Do you become a part of the furniture in here?
That worn old Chesterfield catching a sunbeam in a dark corner, or a dusty book on the coffee table as opposed to that sparkling new item? |

I like to think of myself as a comfy old beanbag.
You have to remember that for some you will always sparkle and others might think that the gloss has tarnished. Regardless you are a value to the forums either way. |

We are always in the room.. just depends on how visible you wish to be. Sometimes it’s the good old side table that’s the one piece you realise you value the most. Shiny things often go out of fashion. |

Good point this. I often feel like ppl either notice me or don't, love me or hate me. You can't please the entire crowd so it's not worth trying to. Just enjoy what you enjoy, try to remain positive and hopefully some folk will enjoy you too, innit....
The furniture is always changing in here too or getting broken and replaced or folk redecorate depending on the latest trends.... |

Spot on - some pieces of furniture come and go like a cheap bit of MFI - others are more sturdy and dependable, and more to the point, adaptable.
It's not so much about being part of the furniture as blending in with the other furniture and the decor no matter what the current trend is. |

"Ive been here 14 years and now sit in the corner watching the up and coming newbies"
Always smile when i see you commenting again.
Ive become an infrequent poster of late but have been around for over 10 years so im kind of like that piece of exercise equipment you pile clothes on and forget about for a while then think is fantastic when you find it again but then easily forgotten again |

Not sure putting bike in your user name is a good idea. People may get the wrong idea |

Why would you want to be part of the furniture?
Not conforming and challenging views and opinions is what forum debate is all about. If you just want to contribute to insanely dull discussion about tits, cocks and other bodily attributes and other such drivel then acceptance is only 10 posts away!
By the way the bank holiday bonkathon is seeking contributors! |

I often feel like that corner of the rug, you know the one, it won’t lay flat and every now and then someone will stub their toe on it, turn with a vindictive glare in their eyes, offer up an expletive and then carry on their way |

I have been here 11 years and still feel that no one would even notice if I just slipped away.
Not a bad thing, just that life isnt permanent and people come and go.
I would say being "part of the furniture" is when you are past the "kid in a sweetshop" phase, and have a recognisable posting style, whether you post hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or rarely xx |

If we're using furniture to describe ourselves I think Fab is like a shared house. It's not meant to be a permanent residence, the furniture won't match and it will have come from various different places. How people see it will depend on their personal taste and how well the furniture has been maintained. |

Never really. It's abit like a large pub. There's a handful of regulars who always stick around but the turnover of the rest is fairly quick so if you don't show your face for a while you're quickly forgotten by all other than your friends. Though I quite like taking a break and seeing all the new faces when I come back. Or just others who have been around years who I just haven't bumped into before. |
