Someone made an error in a lab under the Swiss Alps, and now all members of fabswingers have been sent back to the year 1020.
How do you think you'd fare? And what skills that you have now would help you?
I think I'd last a little while, and I'm handy enough with a saw and chisel to be of some use to the village. |

I'm quite sure that you might guess what my role might be. I expect somethings will not change, the collection box will still be full of buttons and fluff but the main horror is there will probably be no Lemon cake and definitely no tea. What's a Vicar to do? |

"Between us we could probably just about manage with growing stuff and practical skills. But we'd both die pretty sharpish without our medication so we wouldn't have to last long "
Yep. When I say I'll last a while, I'm thinking to the end of the year. I dread to think what the R number was in the 11th century. |

What's a Vicar to do?" . You'll have to adapt to cups of turnip broth! |

"I'll be the blacksmith, it used to be a backyard hobby of mine
Awesome, what were you making?"
Using broken coil springs from a local garage, I'd make kitchen knives, candelabras, ornate shelf brackets |

"I’d be the Lord of the Manor’s slut.
"It's good to be the king, I mean lord of the manor" "
I was being submissive and not thinking I could aim as high as the King. |

"Im quite handy so would be ok job wise. As a sissy I’d imagine I’d be locked away though! Not sure it was quite such a good idea back then"
Medieval gentry wore frilly shirts & big wigs, just saying |

They were about 200 years after the medieval period.
We would cope - we're being medieval this weekend. On a normal year, this would be about event number 12 on our reenactment calendar. |

"I'd be no use. I'm not practical in the slightest. I'd sell my body for food and safety x
You can dance, wench "
We shall call it the "safety dance". It's non-compulsory. You can dance if you want to... |

It is 1020 here I gather my peats, shoot the geese and rabbits. Eat them of course, lots of fishing, these last few months preparing for winter. Brew my beer, keep it quiet about my "lemonade" it has quite a kick. Sex up the wife prepare her for our visitors, when we can. |

I doubt that the Saxons or the Vikings need a computer guy, so I will probably revert to predictions, history forecast and advising the lord of the manor on reading the signs in the sky.
If that doesn't work, I can cook and help in the kitchen |

I once read "Time travellers guide to Medieval England" it was written as if you suddenly found yourself in the 14th century, where to stay, what to eat, customs to adhere too.
But the bit that always got me was "What happens if you get in a fight". Basically, everyone in those days is a teenager. The head of the English army in France is 16 years old, and no one sees it as an issue. It's a childish, aggressive and violent world.
That chapter ended with "If you get in a fight, you will lose. It doesn't matter how fit you are, or what modern experiences you have. You will lose. And probably die."
I'd become a Monk. Inland somewhere. Or move to Baghdad. |

Sniper? Lol I can occasionally hit the Centre boss at 60yds not exactly Robin Hood
Might want to start with recurve before the big stick, unless you go low poundage, mine is 48lb draw, so still got another 22lbs to go before a longbow is classed as a war bow As would have been used In medieval times |
