I used to love a tech thread war back in the day.
Always used to be Windows vs. Mac, then it became Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux (I even remember invading a Mac chatroom with other Linux users - ah the follies of youth).
Nowadays it has to be iPhone (iOS) vs. Android.
Pros and cons and trash talk the competition please  |

The camera is amazing
The apps are amazing
It’s whole phone setup is so easy to use
I have never used an android phone so can’t chat shit about them, but I’m certain they wouldn’t make me as happy as my IPhone makes me.

I won an ipod once. Tried to put some music on it, iTunes did that Big Brother thing that Apple does and tried to take over my PC
(no, I want to put that song on my ipod, not every device within a 3 mile radius including my TV!). I uninstalled iTunes and sold the ipod on ebay.

I detest iTunes with a passion. Trying to sort out an ipod for a non-tech relative left me feeling that my laptop had been interfered with.
Android phones are typically full of bloatware, and Google are just as snoopy as Apple these days, but the lack of proprietary connectors in Android wins for me. Sd cards, 3.5mm jacks, USB chargers give me interoperability that Apple wouldn't allow.... |

iOS, pain in the ass when setting up our company email on it.
I am and always will be an android user.
I just don't see the appeal, but that's me.

iphone slows down on purpose
cannot update its os after a few years
refuses apps after a few years due to os
ackward to use android is easier
itunes always was pain in the arse computer take over pics, music never plug it into 2 computers
repairs are costly
found better programs than itunes still have ipod for music and replaced battery in it |

That's because the original idea behind the Mac was that it was an appliance like a washing machine. If it went wrong you replaced it rather than trying to fix it.
The only advantage they used to have was their better graphics support. But since the advent of 3D graphics cards for PCs they lost that advantage.
And Apple was always the underdog to Microsoft (which is now no longer relevant as Apple is now just another big tech company). The image of an Apple user was that of the rebel while Microsoft was the Evil Empire.
Apple tends to sell it's products on image and hype (if you've ever seen video of one of their conferences it's like a cult meeting). It's basically a church with Steve Jobs as Jesus. |

Absolutely the same. Hate iTunes clogging my phone up with pure hatred.
Been a Samsung man for many years now as easier to use and screen tends to be bigger.
Just upgraded to S20 but have to be honest yet to be better then my old cracked screen S7 Edge. |
