As the weather is stormy and wet, I’m stuck at home wanting to be somewhere dreamy and hot

Where’s on your list to travel? Are you a beach bum, explorer, road tripper? Solo travel or do you like a travel buddy/buddies?

Tell me your travel dreams

Can’t wait to get back to Vegas.... my spiritual home! Though my favourite hotel (Hard Rock) is sadly no more - been taken over and being revamped as a Virgin Hotel

But at least I’ll get to find a new one on my next visit

2. Bora Bora in a sea villa with peace and quiet!

Travel buddy must have a good taste in music!

Loved the Hard Rock (RIP), off the main strip, walking (well staggering) distance to my favourite bar in the whole world (Double Down Saloon), great pool area and not ridiculously busy.

Though can’t go wrong with the classics - Caesar’s Palace and The Mirage. Newer ones tend to be a bit soulless - though most people think that about Vegas in general

North West

We like adventures. Our typical holiday would be somewhere Spanish or Spanish speaking, get a villa (pref pool and garden) and hire a car. We would alternate beach days and lazy pool chilling (prob naked) with adventures. We go up volcanos, modified hiking in the mountains (there are special machines for that). We visit allegedly exciting geological features, maybe archaeological sites, we like a good anthropology /local history museum, hopefully wheelchair accessible. We go to nature reserves, have meals out in hidden away local cafés, tapas bars and mind our own business mostly in the evening, because we currently have a little girl. When she's older, we would probably go out to the evening fiestas, fun fairs etc that you find in many places. I love being immersed in Spanish language and culture and really miffed our trip to the Sierra Nevada was scrapped in May

That sounds cozy and romantic! I like that. Curled up on a blanket in front of the fire.. oooft.

I’ve never been skiing. I wouldn’t have thought I’d be any good based on my performance of physical tasks over the last 28years. Bambi on ice 24/7

That all sounds amazing! The canaries spring to mind for geological landscape but they’re a bit of a tourist trap if you wanted to be immersed.

Hopefully 2021 will be your year! I might need to commission you to make a bespoke itinerary for me. You sound like an expert!

Yeah, we've traipsed the length and breadth of Tenerife, quite literally. I did it on crutches last time! We stay in an area away from the major tourist hoarde, so it's OK. Same in Mallorca last year - we found a villa in a secluded location. We were hoping to explore more of south/central Spain this year, but nope. Hope we can go next year now, but thinking about the Canaries at Christmas

That’s really handy to know.

I like holidays with partners/friends but travelling I do solo as I hate being tied to someone, I like having the flexibility and freedom. Plus it’s a great way to meet new people. I’m still in touch with a lot of people I bet travelling Africa, they’re scattered around the world but we still keep in contact and meet up when we can.

I'm a mix of solo/buddy traveller. I spent two weeks in Italy travelling alone in my early twenties and loved every minute of it but I also loved going to Geneva with my fiance. Next.... I'm not going to include the UK because there's a list of places I still want to go but abroad - New Orleans 100%. If I could go tomorrow, I'd be packing and very excited. I'd love to go back to Barbados, I went annually as a child but not been in a fair few years. And Amsterdam with my partner for our one year anniversary (fingers crossed!). I'd love to explore Japan and see the old interspersed with the new, East meets West. Cuba as well.

I think you'd enjoy it Jamie, even know most days are planned out the different excursions seen really cool. The tied to your friends factor is another thing I didn't like: "Let's go do this", "nah, I'd rather just stay by the pool" waste of a holiday that.

Genuinely wanting to buy a second property and i think ive settled on portugal and on algrave. I love the place. "

Love the Algarve- Portimão,Praia da Rocha...anywhere on the strip. Some of the nicest golf courses as well.

"I travel alone usually in Europe when it’s the USA it’s with my youngest son ... mainly cos he loves America too ... should of been in Vegas next month .,, instead it was Mid Wales this week with family "

That’s so cool your son has the same interest. Is he a good travel partner?

Mid Wales is the new Vegas. What happens in Mid Wales, stays in Mid Wales

Solo travel is very freeing. I think the first time you do it is terrifying, but once you’ve done it it gives you Sooooo much confidence. I would recommend it to anyone to do at least once

"I'm a mix of solo/buddy traveller.

Amsterdam is amazing. I had the best time.

I would love to go to Cuba too. I really want to smoke a cigar in an old style car

I’m with you on New Orleans. I was watching the third series of American Horror Story and it gives me wanderlust pangs

"

Mardi gras would be something else! I've done Amsterdam 3 times and loved each time, I even tried some edibles which were...fun

Did you go on to the Hague? It was stunning

"Holland, Germany, Italy, Cuba, Vietnam, and more of Morocco are on my "most keen to visit soon" list but there's a huge list of places I'd jump at the chance to go and visit.

Ooo I forgot Iceland or Norway.

Norway is ridiculously beautiful! I wasn’t prepared for the 24hours sun situation. It’s very weird going out for dinner, then on to bars and clubs in broad daylight "

Haha yes I bet that is weird!

Mardi Gras is part of the reason! And I might be (re)watching The Originals which has reignited my desire to go to New Orleans. It's that fusion of cultures and just... everything really!

Amsterdam is somewhere I've wanted to go for some time and now the Eurostar route is going live soon, it will be so easy to do.

Looks like we have a Mardi Gras club that’s off to New Orleans then it really does look like an amazing place with a lot of history and soul.

I didn’t go on to The Hague but next time it’s on my list!

I love Vegas, I had my trip over there cancelled in the summer.

I also love Holland.

I do like beach holidays but I prefer to be doing things and exploring.

We do also love the Netherlands. Look up Deventer - a beautiful medieval city

"Where would you go OP? "

I think it would be easier to ask where wouldn’t I go I love the variety of different places, people and cultures.

South America is probably at the top of my list. Specifically Brazil. I’d love to go to the Carnival, explore the rainforest and doss on the beach. Also Bolivia as they have a slow loris sanctuary where they’re in their natural habitat but protected so tourists can’t touch them or disturb them too much. The pet trade has nearly wiped them out so I’d like to see them happy and free but the whole continent I’d be happy to see. Dancing in Argentina, cooking in Colombia, and getting lost Chile

Hey DC!

Italy is such a beautiful country and it’s so different in different regions! I fell in love with Sienna in Tuscany!

Combining it with the French Riviera will be so glamorous, like walking back in time! I hope you have big sunglasses and a big hat!

"As the weather is stormy and wet, I’m stuck at home wanting to be somewhere dreamy and hot

Where’s on your list to travel? Are you a beach bum, explorer, road tripper? Solo travel or do you like a travel buddy/buddies?

Tell me your travel dreams

I‘d like to navigate and travel the crack of your arse

I knew someone was going to get their smut on my wholesome thread.

One ticket to Costa del Rectum coming up "

LMAO! “Costa del Rectum”

I’d love to visit Japan, Tibet, Switzerland & lots of other places. I have really itchy feet.

I mainly stay in hostels so I can meet like minded people - some have become friends for life

My Dad loves Brazil.....I can’t think why lol

I love travelling and visiting new places.

Not a beach person at all.

I enjoy exploring. So history, culture, anything quirky and scenery are my things.

Fortunately, my hubby is happy to tag along.

Would be great to do another cruise. Really good way to see lots of different places and decide where you want to see more of.

At the moment I'm hoping that our holiday to Cape Verde in December won't get cancelled. Due to the current situation and my work I haven't been able to take any holiday, so I really need some time away from home.

I am generally a beach bum, but I like to visit surrounding areas where possible to see different cultures.
