So I just started watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix which provided the inspiration for this thread for you creative bunch

We're going to create our own fairy tale from start to finish. The rules are simple:

1. There must be a hero and a villain.

2. The hero must start out weak and develop as the story goes on.

3. There needs to be wrench in the hero's development to overcome.

4. There must be a happy ending - not that kind ya pervs

I'll start you out: Once Upon a Time there was....

Though next in line to take the throne, he was looked down upon by the people of the kingdom, who had long lived under the fair and just rule of his father, a great and respected king.

What the people didn't know, was that the Prince was a boisterous go-getter in his youth

He had, on more than one occasion, saved the kingdom from evil forces, without anyone ever knowing. Then one day, something happened..

The king had passed suddenly in the night and the Prince, for all his bravery had been bed ridden since. However, there was more than grief at work here.

Far away past the high reaching mountains that marked the borders of the kingdom, on the north easterly side, something eerie, yet formless was emerging, ever hungry and restless.
