Juat been listening to a bluesman called Robin Trower, formerly of Procul Harem many many years ago. Like Peter Gabriel with Genesis they stepped out of the shadows of the bands to go solo and Im sure many of us are so glad they did. I stepped out of the dark and shadows a few years back and suddenly I found myself wearing and loving colours, bright colours and dressing and doing stuff differently..a whole new me. So howabout you people. Have you suddenly found karaoke after being once scared witless by a spotlight or have finally got your skin on show in public like my gf. She was always conscious of the belly she believed she had but then through my help and support she found it was a lively belky and one to be proud of. So come on, have you stepped out of a hesitance or shadow and blown yourself away?

About 15 years ago I accepted an offer to become a pub quizmaster, which everyone who knew me thought would be a disaster, as I hated being the centre of attention. However I proved them wrong and have made a good living from it.

I've also developed a habit of wearing ridiculously loud shirts, which I think goes hand in hand with being the quizmaster.

However, just lately I'm starting to feel I wear the shirts in lieu of having an actual personality

Love loud and why not..sometimes I feel the country is all neutral colours, especially the guys...remember the 80s..so many different styles and trends. I love the quizmaster thing...I hated being put on the spotlight but then had to start lecturing in archeology etc and found I was a natural. I never used notes or stood behind a plinth showing slides..I got the viewers interactive..that way they d be hesitant to fall asleep. You d never get me near a dance floor til 3 years ago...now I often take centre stage..in my head Im dancing for me but it does draw an audience...carry on enjoying
