"how many on here play this TTRPG? I
If so what version?
If you don't play this particular game what table top games do you play?"
I like board games but I struggle with the really in-depth ones. We usually have a games night but Catan and Pandemic are about my limits. I'm trying to get through the top games on the boardgamegeek best games list but I won't go for anything harder than a weighting of 3. We have tried Twilight Imperium but didn't have a clue what to do. Gloomhaven is highly rated but expensive. |

I gave D&D a try during lockdown via discord and roll20.
Was supposed to be a one off thing just to try it......were now 4/5months deep into it
We’re playing in a homebrew campaign so there’s some nice flexibility. I’m really enjoying the creativity that it encourages. And there’s some genuine laugh out loud moments!
Also just for info:
Dwarf
Level 3 fighter / level 2 wizard with necromancy school.
Managed to roll a natural 20 on perception at level one in the first session and find a apparatus of kwalish (submarine) worth 10,000 gold |

We'll be shouting more things than that. It gets quite competitive. |

Kwalish is a great item
I'm DM but my current character being played is an Elven Ranger with a +10 to hit with my bow |

Just starting a new game on Wednesdays over voice chat.
Hopefully we get back to playing down the pub one day |

I enjoy D&D as well as other board games like mansions of madness etc.
But I haven't played in ages, finding a group of people to play with regularly can be tough, even more so since covid. |

"Carcassonne is my boardgame of choice.
Currently getting back into painting WH40k stuff. Making up a killteam board and painting an ork unit."
I used to love 40K when I was younger. I think I enjoyed the building and painting more than the actual game Black Templars and Grey Knights ftw |

I've not played for many years. CoC, Warhammer, AD&D, MERP, Paranoia, Runequest, Judge Dredd.
GW went some way to monopolise and stifle variety. Then MMORPGs.. |

Been wanting to get into D&D as well as Call of Cthulhu.
Play 40k, Mansions of Madness and a few other boardgames.
Also looking for local gamers to play with. |

I love it. I wish they would bring out a decent Warhammer console game. |

Yes. I liked Firewarrior but that was a long time ago. Spacemarine was ok.
Hoping the PS5 will bring some new gems. |

I'm hoping for a good D&D console game.
But Warhammer I'd do something akin to command and conquer where you build troops to deploy against your enemies |

That'll be Dawn of War or Total War: Warhammer then, again, PC only as far as I know though. |

S and colleagues started going to play D&D in the Northern Quarter before Covid, maybe you could join them once it's allowed?! Fuck knows how you'd explain how you'd met, but hey |

I've got a friend who's a lifelong RPGer and I've pitched in during lockdown. It's been fun. Something to do in the house, and some interesting, interactive, collaborative storytelling... WFRP and Call of Cthulhu mainly. Prefer CoC. |

Never really got into D&D. Did play a few epic campaigns of “Vampire: The masquerade”, and mixed it up when the other white wolf stuff started coming out such as the Fallen and the werewolf stuff too.
Still into Warhammer 40K. Been built “The triumph of saint Katherine” this morning while the plasterer has been here. |

Hmm good question.
I dont get time to join in long campaigns so I aim for one shots like Lasers & Feelings, Everybodies John, Murder Hobos, Crash Pandas,
if I get th chance to Skirmish then Gaslands, Frostgrave, Kill team .. but i usually need rules help on those. |

Both of us played role play games many years ago before we met, neither of us has played any RPG for a long time though. (K was into D&D, A played Warhammer Fantasy role play, 40k, space hulk and a few others).
We recently purchased the kill team box set but haven't got around to playing it yet (only just finished building all the models and they still need painting) and we also acquired a copy of gloomhaven the other week to play as a family but it's a bit daunting working out quite where to start with that.
Other games we play are Talisman, Pandemic, Exploding Kittens, Carcassone are ones that immediately come to mind! |
