What is it that you love about your cats...
I have always had cats... I had them when I was a small child.. in fact my first real memory is of the kittens being in my cot with me when my mum bred burmese cats.
I am lost without one.. and lost one recently and has been very hard.
I now have the one older cat ( not quite a year old) and 3 kittens.. two ginger tom brothers 15 weeks old.. and a little scrawny ginger and black female 11 weeks old.
I just love their characters.. they are all different.. Its very relaxing to sit there and stroke their ears etc..
I love to watch them all play around the house.. chasing things.. although ironing has become a difficult chore as they love to run off with the washing as I put it off the ironing board.. and socks.. the two boys love to steal socks.
So what do you love about yours..
mine are called azrael, chester and dexter and Lucy.

I've had cats around for as long as I can remember. Just got two moggies now, one a big fluffy lazy old sod and one who is a little stray bruiser I took in a few years ago, he takes no messing off the dog!
One cat breed I've always liked is the Ragdoll. |

When I was a child, we took in a kitten from a timber yard which enjoyed chewing spent matchsticks.
Cats are independent, intelligent (You don't own a cat, they own you), resourceful and affectionate (when it suits them). They are more comfortable and warmer on the lap than a large dog. |

my cats lovely, she's cheeky affectionate...and loves to fight.Altho I do hate it when shes in the mood to play when I'm not...or not aware...
sometimes she will just walk into the room and i can see shes up to something (wide eyes(not cutestyle))..yesterday I ran around chasing her because she gave a surprise scratch attack while i was typing!- she was shunned away for a few hrs.
My cat is very piny for me, and howls when i'm away! |

I had my first cat when I was 17.
I had two cats three years ago but they had to go. The pissed in my bed, shit on top of cupboards and in the sink, chewed through chargers, blind cords, scratched walls: awful.
I've just renovated my home, including resanding and varnishing my floors and my ex has asked us to take my daughter's cat as he's moved out of his house. Although he has a cat flap the constant stream of estate agents and potential buyers meant she wasn't coming in.
Now I have a cat that runs along and scratches my floors when she can't stop, my £2,000 dining table has scratches, my daughter swore I wouldn't have anything to do and she'd feed it, but muggings here has been cleaning the litter tray, buying food et as my daughter has buggered off on holiday for a week!
She's a cappuccino coloured bundle of fluff and always snuggles up in my lap...sigh...perhaps I won't throttle her after all. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
Anyone want mine? Black and white and 16 or 17 years old (I can't remember and neither can she). Her favourite trick seems to be making a mess of my floors with paw prints, and other things, immediately after I have cleaned them. |

lol my cat when I lived at home was a bit like that.
She made it into the papers for the fact she mothered mice and birds the other cats brought in.. She was queen bee in our house. My mum even had to tell us girls off quietly in case shanni heard.
She was a brown burmese and we had her till she was 18... she was so lovely.. but ruled the house and really did think that she was the queen.
She would strut around and except people to move out of her way. For the first 6 years of her life she never went outside.. Not really sure she knew she was a cat though..
I remember dressing her up in baby bonnet, dress and booties and pushing her around the park in my pushchair. She would also sit at teddybear picnics.. We called her nanny cat.. She was always there if we needed her.

mine are called Ronnie and Reggie and what i like best about them was the way they used to go next door and shit in the garden and dig up all the plants.
i trained them really well.
mind you, the best was when they kicked the neighbours fence in and ate all the Koi carp in the pond.
fucking brill..... |

I love them and always had cats when I growing up.I agree with the poster that wrote they own you, not the other way round.
Haven't got any of our own (at the moment) but one of next door neighbours has around 6.
Two of those come in on a daily basis for tickles and to curl up on my lap. One of them spends more time in ours than next door.

By nature, I prefer cats to dogs, as I like their independent spirit, whereas dogs are more dependent and clingy.
I have one of each now, the cat first, and the dog stayed with me by default after my late partner's death (he was his dog).
Very different in characters, and the cat is definitely more independent and rules the house.
Love them both to bits, and they are my children-substitutes.
I never wanted children, however, I had always wanted cats!
