Your tattoo looks like a mixture of tribal, aztec and maori which were designed to be one colour to a degree.
Some aztec had simple colours like reds and blacks.
If you wanted to add colour and this is just my artistic opinion and only a suggestion, I would have intertwined colour between the tattoo design, maybe flames or rose thorns or dragon scales. You could also have robotic type skeletal features ie terminator style.
At the end of the day its your choice and personal taste. |

Yep I agree, subtle shading is the only thisng you could get away with without distracting from the actual design. |
