When I am old and sitting in a care home counting my last days. I will ask myself did I have a good life. What is a good life?

"A life that had meaning and purpose?"

The sole purpose is procreation.

Not having any regrets, doing the things you always wanted and knowing you are leaving behind a legacy.

I will judge mine by the people I have around me when I'm old. Family and friends are always the most honest and important things in my life.

If I'm fortunate enough to still have them then I will have led a good life.

If I'm sitting in care home I would think I have out stayed my welcome on this planet. The thought of being dependant on others I just can't accept.

I contributed 31 years of my life in uniform, I'm happy with that.

Think of all the health problems you caused serving burger and fries in 31 years!

Think this will be different for each individual, as we all have different goals and aspirations. Not sure I want to end up in a residential home though.

"A life that had meaning and purpose?

The sole purpose is procreation."

This is a bold statement. I disagree with this entirely

Sadly not, it was employment that gave a pension which means that I have to pay tax before I even get up in the morning.

All my customers had their health issues cured, in my mind a good thing.

You lived a life

Saw what you wanted to see

Loved those who loved you back

Overcome some of your fears

Took risks and lost

Took risks and won

Embraced your passions

Walked away from those who didn’t have passions

But most of all ...

No regrets

Sole purpose for me: It’s a gift, a gift that you should live as you see fit. And if you do the things you want achieve then it’s been a life worth living

Had this conversation with my Nanna just before she died. She loved, and was loved. That’s all that mattered at the end.
