Do you like peaches?
Jump to: Newest in thread
In the words of Ditta Von Teese "You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who hates peaches.”
There will always be threads on here about those who prefer curvy or slimmer women, gym bodies or your average Jo body. Hairy chest or smooth the list is endless.
Do preference threads affect your confidence in a good or bad way? Do you see them as people stating their preferences alone? Or do you see them as people criticising the way you look? |

"No. I see them as people just having preferences. I think sometimes it’s the wording people use which gets people’s backs up. "
I agree with you, think it's a shame when wording can derail a thread |

"Depends on the thread.
Some are lovely and positive, some are just an excuse for passive/aggressive digs.
I enjoy the positive ones.
And I love peaches too, all the furry fruit "
It is strange how the same subject can be nice or nasty.
And who can resist a peach? |

I imagine the simple explanation for that "strangeness" is some people can be nice or nasty.
Peaches are definitely my favourites!

That is very true actually, so it's down to people being nice or not, not the actual thread ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I think those threads depend on my mindset.. if I'm feeling crappy then they just compound those feelings. If I'm feeling good then I take no notice.
I love peaches.. especially when they are so ripe and juicy that when you bite them the juice runs down my chin.. |

Preference threads , of any kind, don't serve any purpose what so ever.
The most pathetic ones are from someone who has just come off a porn site and decides that asking a question to the 'ladies' .... that it will give them carte blanch to try that sex act on all women .....
Like them wimmen things they luve that. |

There and to the left a bit |
I'm a particular fan of the Princess Peach
As for preferences, as others have said - people holding them doesn't bother me in the slightest, people expressing them in a derogatory way does though.
The preference not to meet bisexual men is a good example - as one myself, it bothers me not one bit if someone prefers not to meet me because of that side of my sexuality and I don't need a reason, and certainly don't cry "homophobic" because someone has that preference - however if someone states they don't want to meet me, and those like me, because I am a disease ridden cock sucking queer who can't keep my hands to myself, then I'll certainly have something to say. |

I believe they are just people stating preferences.
They only seem to turn nasty when people get offended by a (perhaps unfortunately worded) remark that was obviously not meant to be offensive.
The threads about male body types never seem to descend into nastiness. |

But who turns them nasty the OP or those that take offence at someone expressing a preference that doesn’t fit them or those that just wade in
As long as individuals aren’t being rude or bigoted in their views I don’t see how you could take offence. We all have different likes / dislikes that is what makes us who we are, but to be offended by someone on a forum you don’t know that doesn’t like your particular body type or a feature of it I do find strange |

Agreed to an extent. I don't see that 20 replies from men and women of highly variant ages and sexualities gives a person any insights of any value though, particularly if you accept that your subsets are gender, liars, jokers, misread the Q , didn't understand the Q , just there to keep answering the big titted lady above and she's just there to answer the attention giving male below and no one really cares..... so ..... that leave ZERO replies really |

I think the first few responses to a thread often shape them more than the OP itself - people interpret in different ways and then everyone else follows suit - sadly that leads to the pack mentality.
Similarly when someone later posts against the general consensus that has formed and it's taken as an attack when it's just a different opinion.
It's why I'll often read the OP and then skip straight to the bottom to post my response rather than reading the whole thread |

Haven't read any replies yet so apologies if I'm repeating anyone. For me they are what you choose to allow them to be, and this can be absolutely anything. I choose them to be simply people discussing their preferences, and occasionally I night view them as someone who's has a particular body simply showing it off or peacocking, a bit like when a guy with a massive knob as an avatar asks "ladies what is the best cock size?", he's really saying look at my dick, but his dick isn't bothering my dick so why not let him.....
I think we should stop letting stuff get to us and work on ourselves before complaining and trying to censor others..... ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

Interesting approach, GM! I usually read the whole thread before contributing, to get a sense of the conversation. Sometimes it's gone wildly off piste from the OP... But then I guess the OP isn't getting their question answered. Hmm.

I mostly do this. It bugs me the pack mentality often, just answer the question and perhaps excuse some poor wording choices. Or move along. Or be original.
Also, I can't touch peaches. Or velvet. Eurgh eurgh pukey face!
Also I take body threads with a pinch of salt. I'm comfortable in mine which I guess helps. Preferences are simply that. Preferences. Not slanders on others. |

I don't always and it may depend on the OP whether I do, but I'd rather give an honest appraisal than one shaped by the thread - that said sometimes I'll start reading a thread without the intent to post and find that as I do my opinion is shaped so there's no hard and fast rule to it. |

I think we should stop letting stuff get to us and work on ourselves before complaining and trying to censor others..... "
Agreed we should stop letting others opinions matter so much ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

"I don't think much about those threads.. Sometimes I join in sometimes I don't.
Fab has taught me that there's someone for everyone. Even me.
Sadly I do get my confidence dented by personal attacks in my email at times but usually the feeling does not last long "
That isn't a nice thing to happen, glad the knock doesn't last that long though ![](/icons/s/surprised.gif) |

.... and we see it all too many times, one person can point out the error of their words, but no the pack descends and rips them to shreds.
I think the first few responses to a thread often shape them more than the OP itself - people interpret in different ways and then everyone else follows suit - sadly that leads to the pack mentality.
Similarly when someone later posts against the general consensus that has formed and it's taken as an attack when it's just a different opinion.
It's why I'll often read the OP and then skip straight to the bottom to post my response rather than reading the whole thread
Oh what, you don't like velvet? I love velvet clothes.
I love your attitude in general it's awesome ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

Preference threads don't affect me either way as far as confidence is concerned. I do get a bit itchy when people start implying that one type of person is better at everything than other people just because of the way they look. This is also true of the put of my league and punching above my weight threads. |

"Depends on the thread.
Some are lovely and positive, some are just an excuse for passive/aggressive digs.
I enjoy the positive ones.
And I love peaches too, all the furry fruit
It is strange how the same subject can be nice or nasty.
And who can resist a peach?
I imagine the simple explanation for that "strangeness" is some people can be nice or nasty.
Peaches are definitely my favourites!
;-)
That is very true actually, so it's down to people being nice or not, not the actual thread
But how do you know if some people are nice or nasty (or nice and nasty) if all you've go to evaluate are words on a thread?
"
That is a good point, it's very easy to miscommunicate via words only.
So I generally give people the benefit of the doubt, unless it's obviously nasty.
Or I look at past threads they have participated in and see if they have "form"! |

"Oh and I love peaches and nectarines, skinned, baked and served hot with Greek yogurt and flaked almonds.
Love baked peaches yum "
Baked plums, nectarines and bananas are also delicious baked. I'm an equal opportunities person when it comes to baked fruit ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

"Ohh I forgot to say I prefer nectarines, peach fuzz makes my lips go funny "
This!!!!^
And who thought to put a bug ugly arsed stone in the middle of a sexy squishy peach? How many unsuspecting cave man teeth has that taken out over the years? And what do you even do with the stone at the end? And why does the stone look so creepy like a dead peach bone with flesh hanging off - call in the peach vultures....! ![](/icons/s/cool.gif) |
