"Tried peppermint tea?
Earplugs?"
I havent tried peppermint tea but will pick some up tomorrow incase this happens again. My ears are quite sensitive so I've only really tried my over ear headphones but I'm having no luck. I'd be up in 2 hours for work anyway, I might just get up now and have a cuppa.
Thank you for the advice though what's the deal with the peppermint tea for sleeping? |

Peppermint tea is good for tummy problems.
To aid sleep..consider:
Is your sleep environment good? Dark, no tv, mobile phone slightly cool temp. Is your bedding right for you?
Before bed..avoid stimulants like tea, coffee or alcohol. Warm milk is good.
Is your brain stressed? A niggling problem will keep you awake.
Foam earplugs allow you to change positions, as would an eye mask. |

Peppermint tea is for the burping it's very good for digestion- as are charcoal tablets.
A white noise app might help distract you from the sounds outside. In future, you could investigate the silicon earplugs that you mould slightly by warming in your hands first, my other half swears by them for blocking my snoring. I like the little foam ones (Quies are my preferred choice) but he can't get them to fit |

Love your reply
My room is pretty sweet, it's dark and cool enough and I love my bedding. I did drink a cup of tea before I brushed my teeth and turned the lights off but that's nothing new for me.
My brain is sooo stressed! I definitely overthink things and my head is full of work to-dos etc. I would usually knock the TV off a while before actually trying to sleep so that I can process the day and plan tomorrow. Mines is mostly an outside job so I'm stressing a bit about getting soaked again too.
The ear plugs I will pick up with the peppermint tea but I'm not fussed on the eye mask. Funny story, when my mum tried one for the first time years ago she woke up through the night and said she opened her eyes and couldn't see and panicked that she had gone blind before she remembered the mask |

Thank you I will pick up both peppermint tea and earplugs tomorrow.
I use a sleep sounds app from time to time and strangely enough the rain hitting the windows sounds are usually the ones I choose, it's the wind that's busting me.
I've actually decided to get up so I'll just stick sky news on and have a cuppa try and catch up again tonight |

"I had to tape up my letter box as the dog kept barking at the door "
Awk, poor dog's head was probably turned till then. It was really rough, couple of trees lost branches I noticed on my way in and wheely bins scattered everywhere. |
