If you heard a loud bang downstairs in the night?
I live on my own with my son and dog and generally feel pretty safe in the house. The dog has a bark that sounds a lot bigger and scarier than she is and she wakes up and barks if she hears a noise.
I heard a loud bang downstairs and the dog went bonkers. Security light at the back had come on on the sensor.
I picked up the big photo frame on my bedside table and rang my mum so she was on the phone while I went to look, I let the dog go downstairs first and followed her.
It was just a photo frame that had come off the wall thankfully.
Curious to what peoples reaction-especially those who live on their own, would be?

It happened to me. It was 5 men who literally locked my door off the hinges.
I did what any sane person would do which is hide under the duvet.
I now always keep my phone next to the bed. |

Thing is, what can you do? Even if it’s a knife wielding burglar, if I went downstairs and smacked the shit out of them with my crowbar chances are I’d be the one getting done for it. Wave my man bits at them?  |

I’d wake my wife u and send her down but seeing as at the moment our bedroom is on the ground floor I’d send her across.
I wouldn’t really!!!
I’d shit myself and go and see who had come in through our unlocked doors.

Lol we have 2 bars hidden in plain site, one in bedroom and other near front door. Sounds like we live in a shady shithole lol but we've learnt the hard way. Chancers will have a go if they feel like they want to make there way in. |

Luckily I have a ridiculously protective German Shepherd cross who will take your nuts off if you even look in her direction.
I do wonder how I would feel if I didn't have her though.  |

We have a panic button by the bed which sets the alarm off so if i knew we had uninvited guests i'd go for that. If i wasn't sure then i'd go to the top of the stairs, switch on the hall light and wait for a minute or two and listen and then of i heard nothing i'd go downstairs to check it out. |

I have a hammer and a head torch in my bedroom,
I would go and have a look,
If it's going happen it will,
I will do my best to protect my sons,
I also have a crossbow
Might take a bit of time getting that ready.
