Elephant sized chickens. Simply scaling up the creature would mean bone density too low to support the weight and a cardiovascular system unable to cope with getting oxygen around a creature of that size. It’s legs would snap and it would suffocate before it got over the start line. |

But if those 13 can reach you first due to their more efficient aerodynamics, it gives you a fighting chance to beat them off before the others catch up |

Could also cause them to run slower, meaning while fighting a handful of a first wave a second wave would approach. More information is needed  |
