"No idea but I may try that on my status update
Wouldn't mind a bit of penetration testing with you
Do you qualify as a senior "
Well I'm more senior than you - does that count? |

"It sounds so more interesting than it actually is
Very true "
Searching for open ports to stick your probe in is always interesting. Some Fabbers would be good at the social engineering side too. Just depends how senior we are talking (care homes shielding anyway?) |

These answers are way better than the actual job description "
Having been through Penetration testing I can confirm it was rigorous, intrusive and left you thinking "WTF was that all about " |

"This may be a boring answer but it's about testing IT security. They want somebody to try to hack into their IT systems from the outside to see if there what holes there are in their defenses. "
It's not just IT. Physical security too. How far they can get in an apparently secure building before being questioned or stopped by staff. |

I often get questioned by staff when I try to penetrate something , normally car park attendants, hospital and cinema staff. B@#tards! |

No no no. When you run a pen test you just do a quick squiggle in the corner of your notepad (a paper book - for the younger members of the audience ) |

"I know someone with this job. I giggled when he told me then was pretty dissapointed by what it really is. "
Computer and IT terminology make carry on films look like political broadcasts. Nothing better than whipping out your floppy for a hard one and wiggling your bits all over the desktop, before peeking, poking and forking everything up. Carry on forking now that's a good title |
