Is it bending the truth? How do you feel? Imagine seeing someone in photo's that has been touched up, filtered smoothed out and then when you finally meet they are not what you thought? Too shallow?
OK Fabbers do your thing.... |

Meh. Depends. If people are insecure and need to use filters, then bleugh. I just feel for them for not being confident. There’s a few people (well, probably thousands) on here, where they’re photos are filtered beyond belief. Mehhhhh |

You can usually tell when a photo has been filtered/altered. But, if they did manage to sneak it past me, and they turned up looking completely different, I’d call them out on it |

I have filtered and unfiltered. I always make sure people can see me completely natural so noone feels duped.
Although, apart from a smooth as shit, sparkly face, I look the same. |

Closest I ever get to a filter is tweaking the contrast/colour balance. That's more of a picture quality thing. Anything more than that feels like cheating. |

Just seems like setting yourself up for a fall, it's nervewracking enough meeting new people without turning up a totally different person from your pics. Whenever I see them I think that person is just having a bit of fun online (which is fine) but they're not serious about actually meeting. |

I don't know if it's shallow, maybe someone feels more confident with having filters on/prefers the overall look of it. I don't really like over usage of filters and I prefer "natural" photos the majority of the time. Apart from the odd black and white mine are filter free, sometimes they have the added filter of crapphotographer but that's it. I do get why people do it up to a point but I still think it can look a bit... yeah. I'm not the target audience though so it doesn't matter. |

This issue with photoshopping keeps popping up lately. Personally I don't as if I'm interested in a guy and we decide to meet then they will get no surprises as it will be me that turns up not a photoshopped cartoon version. |

I don't use filters that change my appearance but I am accused of it quite often due to my hourglass shape.
I definitely do think I'm a catfish though if you could see me in bed now with no makeup and a big baggy jumper (: but it be fair I'd always make an effort for a meet like I do with my photos so you would get what you see here, just more jiggly and not so posed. |

Well then I'm guilty of your crime too,I'm here no make up on slouchy pants and vest and messy wild hair all piled up in a top knot . We all make an effort with our photos and know what angles we look better in and how to stick our buts out to show it off squeeze in our tums etc . My main filter is sucking in my tum, tits out I have in my profile I have lumps and bumps and a mum tum so people know what they’re getting |

I dont understand the need to photoshop pics. Yes I use colour filters and angles that hide my wobbly bits mostly. I don't see the point in photoshopping pics and so many are on here. Do people not mind if they meet the person and they look nothing like their pictures. |

I don't use filters. I have no idea how to use them and people might as Well see how ugly I look before they commit to meeting me! I even posted a no make up photo with no filters on and people were very kind about it.
That said for body photos I do tend to take them from certain angles , in the least offensive lighting so that's cheating in a way
I think some people go a bit OTT with filters but I understand your gallery is a bit like a portfolio. You want to put your best photos on there.
I just don't have any! |

Yup. My auntie ALWAYS puts filters on my cousins pictures. They’re beautiful 8 year old twins. They have been using filters for so long, they refuse to have their photo taken without them when she met my wee boy for the first time she used a filter, I made her delete the photo |

Oh I hate filters on children.
I have a cousin who can't take a photo of her daughter without one and even has filtered photos in frames around the house. I think growing up constantly seeing yourself as somehow being better with a filter will cause major issues for some people. She's only six but she always goes on about how you can see her wrinkles and how she needs makeup. It's so sad.

I'm very unskilled with filters. I use colours sometimes and once got rid of a whopping spot on my arse. But it's nothing too out there.
I assume filters exist and it's one of many reasons to have a social only social. |

People should use them as they see fit and stop worrying and judging what others do or think. I don't use them (well no more than a straightforward black and white, but I guess that's a filter) because I'm comfortable with how I look. I do however suck my gut in, hold my chest out or pick a decent angle - so what's the difference really? If I'm on a date I don't walk around the whole time with my gut sucked in so my date would be within their rights to say hang on Steve you podgey misleading fucker what's this wobbly bit here, and leave.
I really don't see why ppl are so obsessed with what others are doing on here lately.
Filters on fab are damn obvious to me when I look at pics, a bit like when someone only has close ups of their nipples or feet or half a glimpse of part of a corset because they don't want to display the true extent of their body in a full frontal full body shot. Each to their own. If you're thinking of meeting with someone and worried about their pics then why not meet them anyway just for a social and find out. Whether it goes any further is a joint decision, whether they look like their pics or not.... Peace.... |

We have played around with colour like making things black and whit, but we don’t alter our pictures. I’m super paranoid about my size so I want people to see the real me and know that is how I look.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I use colour filters, because I enjoy them and it can be fun to play around. I also crop the hell out of my photos. But I've got plenty of unfiltered, completely natural shots as well.
Any photo with my face in is a natural one, and I've even got a completely natural one of my entire body that I use to scare people off.
Unless you're editing the hell out of your pics and don't look anything like them, it's just presenting yourself in the light you want to.
More power to anyone who is happy enough with themselves to post pictures they've not changed in the slightest. I'm not, so I shall continue to change the light and colour as I want to, if I do. Should I ever actually decide to meet someone they'll obviously have the whole scary natural pictures to make their mind up over first.

I use filters to change the colour (black and white, colour pop etc) I've airbrushed a couple of mine because of marks/scars that I'm insecure about but that's about it. I don't change or alter my body shape and I have a couple of raw pics on here with no filters at all.

Yeah, we normally use shading effect.
It does not create a false impression of what we look like, unless anyone was expecting us to in black and white lol |

I might have read the thread differently, but I thought I was seeing more support of body positivity than bitching or judging In this instance anyway, I have seen plenty of judging before on this issue!
They're def fun to play with so i can see why people do. I do think it's a different thing from just not putting your absolute worst self on show though. You're a 3 dimensional person on a date, who smiles and laughs and moves so you don't need to keep sucking in for the best snapshot...but if you've stuck a whole fake face or body on top of yours it's going to be really hard to go enjoy yourself with people that might've liked you just as you are. I know I have a friend who makes this rod for her own back all the time and it does drive me insane with her! She's so naturally beautiful, but on Tinder she's more or less Barbie and then she chickens out of the dates all the time as she's embarrassed they won't like the real her |

I use to change colour off my pics and edit to crop stuff out blur face and stuff
The ones that get me is these new ones that can turn you a different gender seen a lot off them crop up on fab
From tv/ts don’t agree with them as when you go to meet they won’t look hafe as femine or make up done as well as it is in pic

Personally I think it’s deceitful especially if you intend meeting someone. I met a woman once and she just about resembled her face pics, was nothing like them! Waste of my time and hers. Obviously used filters. I honestly don’t see the point. Besides I don’t know how to either! I may crop it if I think an arm looks fat or something and I’ve changed the colouring through my phone but that’s all. Some are so bloody obvious though. Not for me at all. |

I suppose it's the same as taking pictures from your best angle or adjusting the lighting for better pics.
Its just how you as a preson want to present yourselves. That's why I think socials before a meet are important. You can see if you are actually attracted to the person in question. Not only that someone may be gorgeous in person but there personality is not something you are particularly fond of.

False advertising if you ask me. No issue if you're just looking to boost your ego, but excessively filtering a face pic to the point it looks nothing like you is just asking for disappointment.

Some filters dramatically change the way people look,so I'd have to agree in some cases definitely false advertising

Although, apart from a smooth as shit, sparkly face, I look the same. "
I like the photos of you that look unfiltered better. x

I don't mind filters on profile pics, body swops and face blends would obviously be found out quite quickly in the social
If I'm that invested in them to want to meet sexually then a few extra lumps and bumps wouldn't bother me and I recognise that some paler men use black n white a lot rather than add a tan.
My pics are for my amusement on my profile, so sometimes i'll add a filter to get a sluttier look so to tease special friends, as they have all seen me fully naked already |

"Is it bending the truth? How do you feel? Imagine seeing someone in photo's that has been touched up, filtered smoothed out and then when you finally meet they are not what you thought? Too shallow?
OK Fabbers do your thing.... "
Wow.. so I am not the only one who doesn't like the filters... I don't mind the fun ears or black and white arty stuff they are fun as long as you have your real photo in and among them |

Used some artistic filters for some different photos, but plenty of us unfiltered.
We'd always send pics privately with whoever we were meeting first too.
No let downs so far... as far as we know anyway! |

Accept me for who I am, or not at all.
The imperiousness of some people on here beggars belief. |
