A guy has just messaged saying that his who's near says that we are a 3
minute walk away. I questioned this as I thought that the closest it would show is within 1/4 mile away. He insists that it shows that on his. Could he be able to see this? |

I’d someone within touching distance and they were still about a 1/4 mile away I wouldn’t worry too much
I’ve also seen someone from the other end of my home town who I know and depending wether I’m up stairs or down stairs in my house it can change between 3 minutes walk to 1/2 a mile

It may be something to do with your Google location accuracy settings, if you both have your Google settings to high accuracy then it may give you the 'touching distance' message as you phone reads local WiFi signals to help the in built GPS pinpoint you, when you both ping the same network it knows you are within around 30 meters of each other. |
